Really paired nicely with an Italian meal. This was at 54 Mint in SF. The taste improved throughout the meal. The price for a 375 ml was a bit steep, but not unusual for a restaurant markup. The taste was a bit more fruit forward and less complex than I would have expected, but was totally enjoyable. A bit of pepper and a nice sense of the flavor blend changing throughout time made for an excellent wine.

First bottle corked, second, thin, shallow and musty. Perhaps, both had some issues but I have had enough non memorable bottles from this house to never buy again. I have learned to stay with my top producers in weak vintages over mediocre producers in great vintages . I am running thru purchases in my cellar I won't repeat and stick with il poggione, pertimali, poggio antico, etc going forward.

Enjoyed immensely, however, probably skewed results because compared to cabernet and Pinot during wine tasting. Really opened up after 1 hour and was smooth and delicious. Nose very muted, with light aroma but body was perfect on the tongue, this wine changed my perception of brunellos for the positive!

Came home from a week long business trip in San Diego and Paula texted me that she had a simple dinner planned. Well as usual she went above and beyond and had a wonderful eggplant parm dinner ready. Well this deserves a great Italian wine so I went to the cellar for this Brunello. It was a very good wine that paired well but it did not have that extra stufffing I would expect in a Riserva.

A bit on the lighter side, as several tasters have noted, but some good earthy/mushroomy notes, black cherry. Very enjoyable for sure!

Very light without much of a finish. Was expecting much more.

I am not an expert on Italian wines but I was expecting more from a Riserva, a little on the light side.

Good, but not as good as other 2004 Brunellos.
