Salmon ruby hue. Lifted nose of violets, raspberry, rinsed stone. Crisp cranberry, red raspberry, and strawberry on the fizzy palate. Energetic acidity driving true refreshment. Wonderful with grilled salmon. Half bottle consumed on MDI.

Blind bubbles tasting (That Wine Place): Blinded. Base of 2017, 100% Pinot Noir, Disgorged Mar 2022 with 4g/l. Med pink almost ruby like. Much darker than the earlier rose. Lots of strawberry, red cherry, raspberry, med body.

2014 base, disgorged 2018. Bit older than I would usually drink this champagne. Color is deep pink, verging on light red. Expressive nose with some aging. Red berries, mushroom, nuts and pastry. Full body, frothy, Sweet Red berries flavours, dried fruits, dry with mellowed acidity. Good intensity and depth of flavours, long sweet red berries aftertaste. Very good rose de Saignée. My favourite producer for this style of rose.

Initial taste similar to some Alsace/Reislings with a petrol note - not really my type of thing. This lessened over time but was always there. Don't think it was a bottle problem??

Tasted the 2017 base. Moderate salmon pink in the glass. Aromas of strawberry and cream, very fruit driven at first, but opens up to secondary notes quite a bit as the wine warms up. Medium-bodied, fine mousse, high acidity. Well-rounded, well-made Champagne, but not a lot of terroir drive here. Would drink this if there was nothing else on offer.

I rarely pile on, but my second bottle of the 2021 disgorgement shows worse than the first.
literally exploding fine mousse from a bottle that hasn't moved in days. nice cran-apple ginger ale vibe (war heads, anybody??? Now think "spiced cran-apple" flavor)
Wine is just moussey, cran-gingery stuff with a pretty color right now. Sigh

very cranberry ginger-ale on the nose. palate is kinda the same. not a bad thing necessarily.
medium energy. has acid but overall quite rich with a slight sweetness. tons of youthful mousse even on careful pours=annoying. tiny unimpressive bead and resultant "meh" mouthfeel.
delicious and expressive but lacks anything interesting beyond the color. almost like a fizzy bottle of pale ripe vintage Burg
I remember loving this. Maybe the bottles I had back in 2020 had decent bottle age vs the youth? Or grower bottle variation?

This is a large scale Champagne, very red/pinot driven. Upon release, it was a bit straightforward. With time, it developed sous bois, adding beautiful complexity. I recommend cellaring for five years or more.

Expressive nose displaying generous red fruit, strawberry, cherry soda, smoked salmon, cooper, sweet spices and limestone. Very good concentraion, generous sweet red fruit, medium fine abundunt mousse, warm and round, good acidity and mineral, and a medium to long sweeet red fruit driven finish. This is a full body red sparlking wine.

Deep rose color, almost opaque. Bubbles are spaced out, but continual. Smell of sweet strawberry. Flavors of strawberry and maybe watermelon candy. Sweeter than I hoped, but good.

Beautiful deep rose color, aromas of strawberry, cherry, rhubarb, raspberry. Full acidity, creamy texture in the mouth, luscious flavors of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, watermelon and rhubarb along with a nice steely flavor to balance out the fruit. Wonderful with white cheddar, Brie, and goat cheese.

“Anneé 2014; Disgorged March 2019” A unique and complex rosé champagne. The saignee method pulls out copious amounts of fresh and bright red fruits...strawberry, cherry, rhubarb, with added notes of cherry limeade and watermelon jolly rancher. The fruit itself is tart but there is also a fruity/gummy note too. Steely in profile with zero yeast. Sharp acidity, creamy mousse, and chalky limestone minerality. The fruit is powerful, but the overall profile is more elegant.
Beautiful color. Somewhat one dimensional. Nice tart PN fruit but not a lot else going on. Very good with roasted duck breast rubbed with 5 spice powder. Well received for Valentine’s Day dinner.

This was an auction purchase, part of a mixed lot with other targets of more interest. A great bonus, as this was a beautiful bottle that really owed me nothing. I believe it was disgorged in 2007, and had a little age on it. Still bright red and fresh, with prominent fruit, especially cherry and strawberry. It was quite vinous, with balanced acid, minerality and a fine but still generous bead. We really liked it, and it just barely outshined the Billecart Salmon Rose that followed.

From magnum. Fairly deep color for a Brut Rose. showed fairly little evolved character, resulting in a straight forward fruity pleasant sparkling wine perhaps lacking a bit in complexity. Little to no yeast autolysis character.

half bottle, from restaurant list. I believe 2013 base vintage; disgorged Nov 2017.
Light cranberry transparent color with delicate bead. Nose red berries, floral, very faint wax. Palate strongly mineral, dry, red berries. Some orange peel.
Classy with good depth, probably could stand a few years more aging to come into more form. 92 pts

Half bottle off the Single Thread list. Beautifully balanced wine, with some deeper red fruits like just ripe strawberry and also some blood orange. But a delicious savory element too which meant that this wine paired perfectly with our appetizers of sushi and duck. Lots of depth and persistence.

Second time I've tasted this and second time there was something distinctly unclean and off. In this bottle, a truly off-putting, moldy finish. Either San Francisco has gotten a bad batch, or there is something seriously wrong with this cuvée.

Dark beautiful ruby rose, this had a light meaty, burg-like note to it, dry, serious rose; a bit closed, not much fruit, good gastronomic rose. Actually 100% 2013 and 100% PN, uses the coeur de cuvee, ages in stainless and wood, 4 yrs on lees. Bit closed here, maybe has more potential in a couple years? Monopole Champagne Extravaganza.

Spectacular dark saignee-rose; drinks like a fine Burgundy, a little stem-herbal note, hint of Gevrey spice with macerated strawberry and cake; bit richer style, good to age 2-3 years. At Mi Piace w/Farfalle and vodka salmon sauce.

From a half bottle off the Per Se wine list. This was meant to get us through the early appetizers and a particularly wonderful caviar course upgrade and it did the job. There's a bit of strawberry and perhaps a touch of apple to it. A fun wine even if not a great one. But perhaps because of the setting it was well enjoyed.

I agree with RIGELREBE’s tn from May 5th this year. Bright red color, this is no pink champagne. The fruit expression agree with the color, intense red fruits, cherry, strawberry jam, a hint of raspberry, sweet spices, white pepper and a hint of smoke. Very good concentration, very fine abundant mousse, sweet red fruits, bright acidity and a medium to long clean red fruit driven finish. This is a good sweetness. This is all about delicious sweet red fruit!

Extrovert like you would expect from this kind of rosés. Nice bright red color. Typical saignée intensity: red fruit aromas (raspberry, strawberry, red cherries) are well defined and intense, but I find also some spice (cloves) and a touch of aromatic herbs. Not much yeasty aroma here, just a bit after some time. Very fine bubble, in the mouth the red fruit is even more assertive than on the nose with strawberry, sour cherry, raspberry. Light tannins, crispy acidity and good concentration. Persistent in the mouth.

Such a lovely Champagne this is. Just brilliant. Lovely nose with sun ripe wild strawberries, raspberries, strawberries and cherries, mixed with minerals. Palate shows pretty much exactly the same as the nose, clean and fresh, transparent and finely tuned to perfection. After a while in the glass some creaminess made itself present that combined with the wild strawberries is quite exceptional. Among the finer Rosé Champagnes I have had the pleasure to drink in quite a while. (92 – 94)

Rather bright with overt cherry and black currant notes but some chalkiness underneath. Calms down with a night of air, shows good acidity to buffer the black cherry and pomegranate palate. I think the $60+ is ambitious, although it is delicious. If I were having a party, and wanted to get everyone happy, wine geeks and civilians alike, I would serve this. Excellent QPR Rosé de Saignée! Ready to drink now but may continue to improve over the next 3-5 years! Patience has been rewarded and the 93 rating is conservative. Make sure bottle is extremely chilled before opening because this is an exploder (has enough pressure built up so cork will pop when the cage is taken off).

The last of my bottles from the JJ Buckley sale last year. This shows quite well and is a fruit driven wine. It's almost starting to taste sweet to me at this point. As much as I've loved this in the past...I think I may not be buying more of this in the future. I think this is where preference and quality become the point of assessment. I would still say this is an Outstanding wine...I'm just not that excited about it.

- Pink color - Beautiful pink salmon rose color. Refreshing minerality (chalky Peligrino comes to mind) and subtle fruit (blood orange, orange rind) and spice, I did not find the 2008 disgorgement version I tried to be overly sweet as others have observed, but actually quite dry and light. I think it might improve with another couple years of bottle age.

Effervescent, fine bubbles explode on the palate. The yeasty toastyness of your typical champagne blanc is replaced by a very subtle strawberry fruit profile that is less edgy but still finishes clean. Given the color, many anticipate sweetness, but there is none, very much a brut. Everyone at the large NYE dinner table loved it. This has been added to my very short list of champagnes to rebuy (in company with 1996 Krug). From a magnum.

Pretty peachy pink. Clean and modest strawberry lemon nose. Rather effervescent despite several years, the palate displays its saignee origin, mostly vinous with a hint of black cherry, but almost no sign of bready/yeasty blanc flavors. Was very excited to try another new (to me) rose. This had a beautiful nose of raspberries in a deep haunting sort of way. Tasting it revealed raspberries, strawberries, crushed rocks, minerals, mint, and some spices. The wine was sweet without being sweet, which is always key in a rose, but the one problem I had with this champagne was that you could really taste a fairly prominent red wine flavor that just wouldn't go away. There was nothing really wrong with the red wine flavor, but I am just not used to having this in a my champagne. So overall it was good, but for me a non-vintage Camille Saves Rose is much more enjoyable.

The beautiful salmon color is what lured me to it initially. I was let down after I popped the bottle; however, as it was a little too up front with the fruit and not quite delivering on the "Brut" aspect in the finish (Too sweet). nose: pretty and feminine nose with a riper edge to it consisting of Red fruits, red cherries, berries, bits of various citrus tones along with a touch of roses. There is very good depth and style on the nose that is very enjoyable
taste: Fuller bodied with medium acidity along with riper tones of red fruits, cherries, bits of berries and roses along with some mineral tones underneath. The acidity is a bit light though and it doesn't give enough verve on the palate
overall: this had a 4/10 disgorgement. Fairly surprising on the acidity given the youth of the disgorgement. This was more of a showy bubbly with a real good nose, but lacking a bit on the palate

Beautiful dark reddiish orange hue. Lovely nose of chalky limestone, strawberries and peaches. Quite crisp and acidic on the palate with a nice yeasty component. As it opened, lots of sweet fruit with bright cherries and a hint of port and vanilla. Excellent on its own and with food.

From magnum. Light salmon colour, and really delicious stuff that starts out with a blast of fresh strawberry, pomegranate and cherry fruit flavours over savoury yeasty and doughy notes. With a little air this gets even better as the fruit gains in depth and power, and an intense chalky minerality emerges underneath. Great stuff.

increasingly i think rose chaqmpagne is not my cup of tea. light red fruits (poss strawberry) but overall this flavor distracted me from the freshness i sought out, and my overall feeling was that of murkiness.

What can be stated about its color is self-evident. The incorporation of still Pinot Noir is boldly on display, as is the hallmark fruit-forwardness of Champagne produced by this method. Delicious strawberry and raspberry nuances, a lively yet sappy finish, and flinty acid made this the perfect foil for buffalo-seasoned-and-steeped shrimp. Mmmmm. And a crowd-pleaser for those yet to warm up to rose Champagne.

A big, rich Rose. It definitely hit the spot tonight, but I'm not sure I want so much...largess...with my Champagne. Chalk, rich fruit, deep color. Certainly good. Just on most nights I'd rather have Burgundy.

Champagne Tasting (Wide World of Wines - Washington, DC): Very long, deep nose. It goes on and on. Great, creamy complex palate with a long finish. If the sweetness develops here, it will be outstanding. Right now I find the minerality a little overbearing. 90+

Taught nose of pomegranate, green apple, slight orange, cherry, smoke and mineral. Yeast flavors unfolded with some air time, but in this split shared with my wife, it didn't get much air time prior to disappearing. Loved the mouthfeel which combined juicy red fruits with sharp midpalate attack of acid and mineral, all in energetic balance. Very fine bubbles. I really liked this. Suspect this will improve with some bottle age. Disgorged May 2008.

Drank last night. Didn't take notes. Intense pink color with slight orange hue. Nose of strawberry with a whiff of yeast. Cherries, pear and strawberry on the palate with zesty acidity and a lovely dry finish. Beautifully made Champagne that both stands on it own and pairs well with food.

VERY fruity for champagne, with intense strawberry, cherry and raspberry coming to the party with a good bit of doughiness as well, leading to my impression of "strawberry shortcake." This was a very heady and deeply scented wine... My nose hardly left my glass the entire evening, but once in the mouth, while beautifully creamy, the doughiness was mostly absent while the fruit mingled with a touch of citrus. While not quite as complex as premier cru rose champagne can be, this wine was incredibly fun and very, very pretty.

Ah, the Ultimate Sunday Breakfast (version 1): fluffy pillows of scrambled egg, crisp Nueske slab bacon, bagels with cream cheese . . . and a well-chilled bottle of Rene Geoffroy Brut Rose pink Champagne. What a marvelous treat; beautiful bubbles, fine mousse, and the taste of strawberry soda. Our favorite pink Champagne (and the house favorite at Alex, the top restaurant at The Wynn in Las Vegas; great company to keep!).

Thiese Champagne Dinner (Alana's): Nice little apertif, but a half glass was enough. Light blossom notes, a bit thick and ended being too sticky and soda-esque on the palate.

Would drink this if there was nothing else on offer.

medium energy. has acid but overall quite rich with a slight sweetness. tons of youthful mousse even on careful pours=annoying. tiny unimpressive bead and resultant "meh" mouthfeel.
delicious and expressive but lacks anything interesting beyond the color. almost like a fizzy bottle of pale ripe vintage Burg
I remember loving this. Maybe the bottles I had back in 2020 had decent bottle age vs the youth? Or grower bottle variation?

A unique and complex rosé champagne.

2015 Aspen Food & Wine Classic Trip; 6/17/2015-6/22/2015 (Aspen, Colorado): From a bottle disgorged in June of 2014, this rose-colored, nonvintage, 100% Pinot Noir offering has a small, active bead. Raspberry, orange zest and floral aromas are followed by similar flavors on a medium-bodied, crisply acidic frame. Solid in the middle and finishing medium-to-long, this is a delightful Champagne which should provide maximal pleasure over the next two years. Drink now-2017.

Orange hued vivid pink color with an abundance of tiny bubbles and appealing exuberant strawberry, cherry, raspberry, spice and smoky mineral aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied with a delicate mousse and refreshing slightly tart cherry, raspberry, spice and mineral flavors. Long finish. 100% Pinot Noir from the 2010 vintage sourced from from Premier Cru sites in Cumieres. No ML. Fermented in open-top vats before spending 30 months sur lie.

A sweet floral nose with some chalk notes. There's some real depth here. Sweet on the entry with some great mineral complexity on the back palate and finish. This is delicious. 91+

While not quite as complex as premier cru rose champagne can be, this wine was incredibly fun and very, very pretty.

chalk and some yeast on the nose to go along with the brightly perfumed pinot fruit. lively on the palate, smooth texture, very mineral on the finish. just delicious, on of the better rose of champagne i've had.

Deep, almos lurid red. Strawberries and raspberries on the nose. Not the most refined champagne but delicious.

Strong yeasty / bready / doughy aromas...fruit hidden underneath. Needs a few years to age on the cork.

Thiese Champagne Dinner (Alana's): Nice little apertif, but a half glass was enough. Light blossom notes, a bit thick and ended being too sticky and soda-esque on the palate.
Paired with : Pavé of Benedictine and New Potato, Lump Crab Cake w/ Rock Shrimp Aioli, Fromage D'affinoise w/ Martel VSOP and Lingonberries
