Medium weight pinot with perfect balance and very complex flavors and great finish. The fruit is black cherry, black berry and a nice cola and clove component. Drinking perfect now.

Certainly reminds one of Burgundian style pinots at this stage. Just enough earth to notice and mild dark fruit and tea flavors have medium length. Drinks well now.

Better than expected given the prior tasting notes. Give this 30 minutes in the glass and you will be rewarded. More rustic than what you typically get from PN in Santa Maria. Nice QPR at $15.

Drank over 3 evenings. Much too young and awkward initially (an 80 at that point). On the 3rd evening it finally started to show some interesting stuff I've found in earlier vintages of this wine (an 86 on the last sip). I split the difference and gave it an 83.

Pop and pour. A hint of funk followed quickly by cherries and vanilla creme on the nose. The palette is big on the ripe red cherries and cherry cola, with a reminder of the funk mid-palette. None of the heat found in the last two vintages.

1/27/2015 - Deux Chevaux Does not like this wine:
Dark, rich, but rather dull, simple, sweet, with inadequate acid; it made a dandy pork stew.

Still drinks great. Cherry flavors predominate but an hour in the glass brings out more pinot spices.

Always pleasing Byron Pinot. Black cherry and allspice on the nose and palate. Light body was perfect pairing with grilled salmon.

Ok. Much more supple in 1 hr of decanting. Nose is solid, but mouth feel is a thick and a bit viscous. Palate is limited and fairly simple.

Tasty. Slightly frizzante to me. Nice acidity

Ripe red fruit, vanilla nut, creme brulee, nice thin acid. Not much cola to speak of. Mild-mod tannin. A simple tasty crowd pleaser.

Based on notes we decanted and let it sit for a while and it really opened up. Big cherry and vanilla notes, much bolder than I thought it would be.
