Whoa....dug this out of the cellar; forgot we had it, even though we use CT to keep track of our wine. A fabulous Monastrell (Mourvèdre) from Alicante. Lovely structure, big time purple color...fabulous on the palate. Then, we discovered that Eric Asimov had done a tasting of Monsastrell's last October. The La Tremenda (2009) was the top wine. And, what a deal...$13 to $15!!

I don't know if this nettle was bad. My wife said it wasn't spoiled but it was just way over ripe and syrupy this time. I don't recall it being that bad previously. No rating but bottle went down the drain.

Ample amounts of oak complement this very ripe and fruity red. Voluptuous notes of black truffles, cherries, tobacco, and eucalyptus punctuate the experience. Great acidity with very firm tannins for a 2007 wine consumed in 2011.

Drinking this wine as a cocktail at the moment (i.e., no food pairing). I have had this before but do not recall it being this pleasant and easy to drink. No problem with tannins, they are there but not aggressively. Raspberry, cherry; slightly alcoholic nose; not too high, however, at 14% ABV. For $10, I'm liking this.

Good wine, awful plastic cork. Note to winery: Please use screw-cap if you won't use real cork! The plastic cork was so tight I ruined one of my corkscrews.

It aged nicely, much improved over last year. Very fruity (cherry) on the nose an palate with touch of acidity and tannins. Drink now.

Not really my style. A decent deal for the price, but not one I'd buy again.

Drank over several days (pouring into smaller bottles each time.) Got better each day.

Obviously a BevMo purchase. Nice and drinkable, but not memorable. GV for the price.
