I picked up a few bottles of this wine on sale to find out how a well regarded grower would fare in a tricky vintage. Pale straw. A more substantial nose than usual for Chablis; butterscotch, nuts and lime. My thoughts are immediately led to Meursault and Montrachet. Rich, somewhat fat texture. Green melon, white peach, honey and citrus on the palate. Maybe lacking a bit of minerality the first 30 mins or so, but over the next 2 hours this baby is firming up and shows more traditional Chablis character; crushed rock, citrus and sea salt. Excellent purity of fruit. I detect no oak. I would decant this for at least an hour next time. Great wine. UPDATE: Has not budged at all on day 3. Sea shells, lemon juice and a piercing minerality. Outstanding wine with years to go.

I found this to be very plain. A friend kind of liked the pineapple flavor. I was unimpressed, especially at this price. Not enough minerality or complex flavors.

A fruity and full bodied chardonnay with pure minerality. I think its quite typical (if little less acidity and a little fatter than usual) for a good chablis even if the vintage was extreme. It may not be much better but it will stay good for at least five more years.
