  • Simple sparkling wine, clean fruity characters, OK acidity.

Ok pre dinner sparkling for non champagne consumers.

  • Clear light gold core with medium sized persistent bubbles. Clean nose of apple, nut, mineral with a tiny bit of autolysis - but ultimately a simple nose. Dry with the minerality showing initially along with the medium intense crisp apple and citrus. Medium plus acid, medium minus body, medium alcohol. Good mousse and mouthfeel. Medium length finish with the minerals and apple continuing. A very well made wine - am going to pick up a few bottles and see what happens in 4 or 5 years. Is definitely a drink now wine but there's something there that suggests it could handle a little aging. Stay posted in 2015...

  • Beyond expectations. Good bead and nice linger on the palette. Chenin shows through as an acidic complexity. Will buy again

  • New in stores in MB - see the previous note from producer. I thought the re-sealable cap was gimiky, but actually isn't bad, and doesn't reflect also what i expected was a "gimiky" sparkler from AUS...

This is a decent sparkling white, light on nose and palate with flavours and aromatics. Nice bubbles, crisp, but a little "plain jane" for me. Price is ok. Give it a go!

  • This is a new Sparkling Wine in the stores and new to this site, so here is a cut and paste from producer as intro:

"Zamphire is the brand new sparking wine launched by Evans and Tate, featuring an innovative resealable cap ensuring longer freshness for your bubbles! Zamphire is blended from 4 vintage years to provide depth, complexity and desired freshness of flavour."

"Tasting Notes: The palate is fresh and crisp. Crunchy green apple, white peach and melon flavours dominate with time on yeast lees adding a delicate creamy note and texture. The wine has a delicate bead that provides tremendous freshness and carries the flavour to a dry finish."
