My last 2008. This was a darn good vintage, but gotta say I liked the 2004 more. Love these wines as very low maintenance...PnP and they are ready to drink in no time! Therefor perfect for bringing to a restaurant. Also make great gifts due to unique bottle shape...on to the '09's!

Pop and pour, consumed over next 2 hours. Surprisingly, this has really developed further since last tasting. Wonderful complexity, elegance, balance, and personality. Drinking beautifully now.

In a nice spot. Black cherry fruit, muted nose. A pleasant if not profound wine. Missing depth. Drink these now as don't see any added potential, but my first time with their wines at this age.

Fantastic! This is STILL drinking at peak...nobody makes cerasuolo like COS. Did NOT decant. Pulled the cork, left in bottle and started drinking after 30min.

We liked this so much, ordered two bottles at Restaurante Silvio in Bellagio on Lake Como. Great food wine. The wine list wasn't very deep and have been wanting to try a COS wine, had to order a Sicilian wine in Lombardy.

This could be a 90, but there is not much of a finish. Nicely integrated dried cherry, menthol, mint, light oak. Just a nice smooth taste with nothing jarring nor truly exciting. It does not really soar to any heights. This wine is sort of like a second cousin at a wedding whom you speak to for 20 minutes and find that, eh, he's a nice guy and you might be friends with him, but he lives in Chicago and you're in New England. You don't hold anything against him and you probably wouldn't mind seeing him more often for a round of golf, a nice dinner out or to go fishing, but in reality, you'll probably only see him at weddings and funerals, and when you do, you'll talk to him and catch up and that will be enough after all. It's that kind of wine.

Bright Ruby colour. Sharp nose of wet stone and wild flowers with bright cherry. Entry is lightweight but flavourful. Builds to a high acidity with spicy sharpness. This acidity will last a while. Nice with a spicy pork roast.

Nose of sour cherry, initial slightly acidic and tart with a cherry overtone and finish. Nicely balanced and crafted. Light sense, maybe from the blend and color, feels balanced and well put together.

Pleasing nose of bright raspberry, with a duskiness and minerality providing added complexity beyond the fruit. Light-bodied and high-acidity, the palate is bright and high-toned with black and red fruits and a mineral, gravelly finish. Good stuff.

Firstly Wine needs 30-45mins of air because before that it just is high acid sour cherries, not bad but you know could use something else, well with some air it started to open and be beautfiul still has that high acid italiy acidity, med- body, light drinking in a sense but gorgeous fruit once it opened. Aging potention pretty darn good I think

Fragrant nose of stony cherry and beets. Very flavourful mouth; light but lovely fruit. Fairly precise and focused. Nice acidity but not too strong. Nice tart finish.

Earthy cherries on the nose. Taste was similar but underdelivered with a high acidity and slightly dried out feel. This was still a good dinner wine but based on other notes this bottle did not seem representative.87-88pt

Very nice fresh nose of acidic cherry on a cement barn floor. Entry is very clean and tasty. Actually the entire mouth is clean and fresh and delicious. Decent length but not that important frankly given the summery use of this with food.

Really enjoyed this mid-weight, ruby red COS. Tangy and earthy, with cherry fruit -- akin to a good unoaked Chianti. Not overly complex but a great food wine.

Nice earthy nose of high toned cherry. Mineral ladened mouth with great freshness and interest. Acidic zip on opening that died away with decant time. Finish is tart and long with a great stony background. Well made fresh summer refresher.

Popped and poured, consumed over next two hours. Medium bodied, nice intensity, a myriad of subtle flavors including tobacco and cedar, nicely woven. Some of these are flavors I associate with a more aged wine. Kind of an elegant, hypothetical blend of pinot and CdP without having to wait 15 years for development. 13.0 abv. Kept improving to the final drop.

Enjoyed more than the '07. Almost as much as the '06. Wonderful notes of raspberry with a bit of color and heft provided by the nero d'avola. Would recommend. Goes great with chicken, tuna steaks, etc.

Lighter ruby color than I expected, but bright and clear, nice presentation. Nose is a little off and non-aromatic, mostly of cherry with the smallest amount of spice, alcohol, and chocolate, but has nice mineral note. Palate is beyond beautiful, medium bodied and firm, high quality dried cherry fruit with a list of tight other flavors not yet fully development. I have two more of these, will wait a year for the next one. The finish is remarkably smooth and fairly long. I love these COS wines, cult status: approved.

Light ruby colour. Nose not fully open but sweet cherry a bit high toned. Very fresh but light. Really tasty entry on the mouth. Full all the way through. Surprisingly tasty given the closed nose. Good acidity as expected but not overdone. Nice length with quite a strong earthy backbone. Really quite nice. Day 2 alcohol a bit hot on the nose. Very sweet entry with nice vegetable backend.

Light ruby colour, the nose has a classic Sicilian rustic aroma of iron filings and old rope but after about 45 mins, rich, yet austere blackberries, slightly smoky, and spicy bell pepper. The palate is more exciting with extremely rich luscious red fruits, and though quite smooth, still has an angular intensity on the palate with high acid and tannin levels that give this at least five years more development, when it'll be smoother and fruitier but at the moment, it is punchy, lively and juicy. ***1/2

LIght garnet. At first the nose was very light and soft but after an hour plus in the decanter it started to show beautiful dark fruit and earth with a bit of secondary development. Earthy plum flavours and a light to mid weight finish. Very good.
This wine is excelllent if you want an early drinking obviously Italian wine.

Mediterranean Islands and Greece Blind tasting: A lot of purity on the nose. Slightly plummy. Med body, tannic, high acidity that gives the wine plenty of energy while retaining its southern profile. Lovely floral notes, violets and cherry. A touch of licorice. Long finish. This wine really improved over the last few months.

A medium bodied, fragrant and earthy wine that shouts "Old School Italian" and goes very well with a wide range of food. After about an hour, the fruitiness opens up a bit and the earthy backbone is balanced by sweet cherry fruit and sweet herbs and a very clean finish. Excellent with Italian food and a nice change of pace
