Drank over two days. At this age it is definitely a ‘cougar’ of a wine. It is sophisticated, mature, resolved and confident with what it is. Black fruits give way to leather and some faint shoe polish. Still quite good and can go for a couple more years but it’s best days are behind it.

Nose of cedar, spice box, dried flowers and liquorish. Nose was subtle but complex. Nose seemed to carry over to the pallet. Tannins are still there but relaxed and mostly out of the picture. Going strong after a couple hours. In a way strong but also delicate.
Bottle was double decanted to take to a regular tasting group. No one guessed the wine's age. About as old as a PS that I've had, not sure where it goes from here.

Nose: big raisin, with a little barnyard in the back Mouth: round, luscious, raisin goodness front to back, with a touch of graphite Finish: flint/graphite, and the raisin fading to a little heat. With the guajillo-base of the sauce of the Molé Coloradito, it was excellent.

Decanted and served. We felt the wine has seen its best days and its now drying out on the fruit and the acidity stands out a bit astringent. It’s ok but not really the wine one expects . 87

Decanted and served. Probably one of the best cellar defenders we could ask for ( A good wine that you open when u need more wine post a long wine flight. This stops you opening something really expensive :) ) . Powerful but only 13.5% in alc , lots of juicy fruit, very much new world but not sweet or man handled. It is Ridge after all biut its also a new world petit syrah so balances the 2 very nicely. Good dark fruit, solid core of fruit, still primary and with presence. Very good 90-91

Tasted over the course of two nights, this started out as a tannic beast, taking the palate by storm and leaving no tastebud unwounded. After a few hours the fruit (blackberry) came out to play, along with savory olive, soy and roasted meat. Ultimately it remained firmly tannins, even on the second night. I would not open another bottle of this for at least ten more years, unless there was a grilled ribeye or lamb chops to tame the tannins.

Balanced and surprisingly open for a young Ridge PS. Very bright fruit, good acidity. May not age as well as a typical Ridge PS, but an excellent choice for drinking now.

Good acidity. Smooth tannins that are quite well integrated. On opening, the oak is still very obvious and dominates a bit. After about an hour in the decanter, the oak blended in and the wine was quite delicious. Definitely has a few years ahead of it, but very good now with some air.

4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Rick's & Cris'): Inky garnet color. Aromas of red fruit and evergreens- also a roasted note- tomato paste or pimento maybe. Balanced, with dark fruit flavors dominating the palate and finish.

Faint nose. Chewy juicy black berry fruit flavors with good acidity and just enough tannic grip. Oak adds spiciness and complexity. Not too big or overpowering; should make a good match with a variety of foods.

Still too soon?!?! Stanky earthy chewy goodness, but may again still do with another 3-5 (more?) years.

Slightly acid taste. Enjoyable but not thrilling
