In the glass this wine is very dark with a bright red rim. First impressions on the nose were of a wine with a big, dark fruit structure. Plums, dark fruit jam dominating but also vanilla and a very subtle wood smell. It has a very interesting mouth feel. Tannins present but not strong giving the wine traction in the mouth and a decent finish. The aroma of the wine developed further after the first glass by revealing an interesting black tea undertone to the fruit and vanilla aromas.
