Straw color. Heavy nose of burnt plastic masking much of whatever else it has to offer. Crisp wine with an overwhelming petro, alcohol and a minute hint of citrus coming through ending in a tart fashion on a short finish.

As other tasting notes indicate, this has a funny, rubbery-petrol aroma and a bitterness on the palate. Not my favorite Riesling at this price point, and not sure I would buy again. Lacked the brightness that I find appealing in this wine.

Found by pure luck for $4.99/btl at Cost Plus (California chain). I also got a little petroleum on the nose as another reviewer commented, which is rather unpleasant. This goes away somewhat with a little sitting in the glass (or a decanter), and changes into more of a green apple peel smell. Typical yellow-green color, very clear. On the tongue, this riesling shines. Dry, Tart, mineral, lemon and grapefruit. The mineral notes hang on through the long finish. Would rate 90-91 if the initial smell had less petroleum.

Riverview Tasting (Post Oak Lodge (Tulsa, OK)): The whiff of petroluem on the nose shocked me a little as this has developed fast (storage?). Plenty of lemon and lime in the attack with enough acidity for 4-5 years of ageing.

According to the bottle this is "an outstanding wine of great structure and ageing potential" made from "premium Riesling grapes from South Australia's finest regions". Very pale, green straw colour. A confected, zesty lime sherbert nose with a sort of rich pistachio-based marzipan note. Light and fresh. Very clean and pure. Very crisp, with subdued citrus fruit flavours. Rasping acidity and a wet stone minerality. Seems a little dilute however. Undoubtedly a bit over-priced at £7.99. Good/Very Good.

A bit sweet, but a reasonable Riesling.

Heavy nose of rubber hose which remains on the palate. Remains even after an hour in the glass. Undrinkable.

Bone dry, citrus aromas with grapefruit, cantaloupe, and pineapple flavors. If I buy more I will age 2-8 years.
