aromas of lemon, honey, truffles, apples and minerals. full bodied with a good charge of acidic structure that carries to citrus and almost tropical fruits on the palate with a clean minerally finish. drank better on the first day than the second when it started to fade and the acidity rounded out.

Deep yellow color that was almost exactly the same as the California Chardonnay of the same age right next to it. Unlike that wine, this both started and finished completely oxidized. Some Savennieres earthiness did not help. This was past it and without any redeeming qualities.

This bottle, versus the one tasted last year, is a pallid reflection of Savennières. The typical characteristics are there but muted, even dulled. Consistent over the six days this was open.

Golden, precise, and soooo pure. Very subtle but rich aromas of lemon oil, apple skin, minerals, clover and beeswax help generate mouthfilling flavors of the same, along with a note of white pepper. The clarity and lemon oil-infused length of this wine is terrific; the seemingly never-ending finish spans the length of the tongue and even stays with the back of the roof of the mouth. This is a complete wine, and a terrific accompaniment to garlicky pasta tossed in lemon-infused olive oil.

Tasting at Domaine Baumard with Florent Baumard. Pale gold in color, this had a nose that was a little more open than the 2003, but the rest of the wine I found inferior. Very dry and a little bitter, this could use some more richness to balance out the wine. Lots of grapefruit on this one. 50+11+11+6+7 = 85

One Year Anniversary Celebration (Heirloom Cafe, San Francisco): Deep yellow. Faint oxidative note. Full, some residual sugar. Pretty good if not a dazzling Baumard.

Don't know if this was a storage issue, but this was madeirized and undrinkable, same for a second half bottle.
