still drinking very well, although I would drink up, I would guess it has lost several points since it's peak. Dark purple color, dark black fruit, spice and pepper. The meat and smoke flavors have mellowed. very nice. last glass on day 2 is showing very well, did not lose anything having been open 24 hrs.

PnP. Opaque ruby/black. Full bodied. Spicy black fruit, with strong cherry/strawberry/raspberry overtone. Ground black and green pepper. Very long finish. Epitome of a Central Coast Syrah. Still a few years left.

The nose was gorgeous from the very first tilt of the glass, showing sweet herbs with a spitz of spicy orange, offsetting sweet purple florals, crushed ripe blackberry, blueberries, hints of tobacco and moist earth. On the palate, I found velvety textures, yet fresh, as the Santa Lucia Highlands Syrah coasted effortlessly across the senses with notes of ripe dark berries, sweet spice and tobacco, hints of game and crushed violet candies as a touch of residual tannin tugged at the senses. The finish was long and fresh, as a mix of black fruits, purple florals, hints of citrus and spice slowly faded.

Opened for 1-2 hours, tight on opening smoothed out quickly.A much more fruit forward Syrah versus the iron back mouth of others. A good hint of Zin spice . Excellent paired w ith baby back ribs

No formal notes. Night 1 at restaurant pop and pour was totally shut down and dominated by grapefruit finish. Corked it and ordered something else BTG. Night 2, it opened up, blueberry pie, plush. Not sure what happened night 1.

Oh yeah. A wow wine. There was just a touch of grapefruit freshness at the end of the palate that brought it all together. Rich purple color with magenta rim. Bright and juicy, totally hit the spot. We had this with a brick of dark chocolate and that was fun. Second half enjoyed a night later and it was good but not the same punch as the first part enjoyed on pop & pour. I often let my Carlisle syrahs lie for some years but opened this on whim. Glad I did, it was so approachable and delicious. Huge QPR!

I paid what? $23 on release? No way. This tasted more like a wine double the cost. Soft and velvety. Really smooth. Very dark color. A pleasure to drink and pop 'n pour, and over the next couple of hours. QPR champ of the year. Drank this with BestJetsFan at a game 1 World Series gathering.

Deep purple colored with aromas of purple fruits and white flowers.
A plush wine that offers a copious amount of purple fruit but that is nicely balanced by the acidity. With more time open, the fruit is more blackberry and some charcoal notes peek out. There's a nice savory quality to the wine and the 15.0% abc is not noticeable, nor do I get any notes of oak. Tannins are resolved and the wine is drinking incredibly easy. A bigger wine but not a bruiser, seems to be entering its prime drinking window. Very nice.

Bright purple in color. 15.0% ABV. 100% Syrah from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Powerful nose of black fruits, smoke and flowers. Super fresh with fabulous acidity. Iron, game, blood, violets and white pepper on the palate. Great finish. More Northern Rhone like than I would typically expect from Carlisle. Drink over the next 3-5 years.

A terrific syrah that is drinking great now even with a pop and pour. I love syrahs Santa Lucia Highlands vineyards and this is no exception. This wine has the classic white pepper element that makes it so enjoyable. The only thing I don't like about this wine is the fact that only 129 cases of it were made and that I could only get two bottles of it. Although drinking well now I think it can last at least another 10 years.

PnP, consumed over 2+ hours. Deep color with purple core. Black/blueberry, iodine, more floral underpinnings than meaty for my palate. Nice acids and smooth tannins. Wish I had a lot more at this price.

Black currant, bramble and smoked meats. Superior acidity, with high tannins due to young age. With its concentration, could easily cellar for 7-10 years. Yet another brilliant bottle by this outstanding producer!

Bordering on outstanding - drank it young - but really wanted to sample the 2009 syrahs - smooth, easy finish - dark fruit - needs a little time to open up!

Night 2 notes: floral and dark fruit, brown sugar and iron. Great nose. Still really tight on the palate. Bold fruit without being heavy on the palate, but the fruit is not well defined... Maybe too young? Really dry finish, with some cocoa. Still enjoyable, but try to give it a year or too.

I need to get on this list. Floral nose with sweet violets, mild pepper, and iron. Palate is smooth, well concentrated, with fine grainy tannins and a little zip of acidity. Fruit is forward at this point, with a "purple' profile with violets, currants, hint of plum and wild berry. Seemed lighter on the palate than the depth and concentration suggest. Lengthy fruit driven finish with just a hint of tar and a crushed rock profile on the back end. I expect this to come together a little more in the next 1-2yrs.
O night two the fruit receded some, with more coffee, chocolate, and toast on the backend. Accessible for a young wine, but showing more potential for the medium term.
