Tasted blind. The use of whole clusters is evident with the nose of freshly cut grass and violets. Very fresh, notes of candied cherries, sweet tannins, delicious. Does feel more mature than 2009 but why wait?

Very bright, oranges and raspberries. Palate is Shrill and savory w high acid. Not interesting at this point.
Day 2: Better then last night. Very fruity w berries and crunchy and citrus. Light and crunchy on palate with a nice savory stony note. Finish is light and pure and precise, long and clear. Maybe this needed a shake on opening? Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je be Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16/20.

NDG 2002 Clos de Vougeot Dinner (Summer Pavilion, Ritz Carlton, Singapore): The surprise interloper - this more than held its own in the crowd of CdV Grand Crus though. It had a beautiful lifted nose of cola, flowers and red fruit, backed with a touch of earth and hints of herb. Lovely. The palate was all florals and red fruited cherries draped with a cloak of fine tannins, and enlivened with a little chew of acidity. It was clean, clear and juicily pure in expression, yet with no lack concentration. Decent finish too - nice and bright, with a crunch of red fruits and a linger of violets. It was only a little bit of (very Fourrier) secondary fermentation fizz that distracted somewhat. Otherwise, a delicious wine that is showing very nicely in its youth. Should age well into the midterm as well. A nice way to end a good tasting.

Clos de Vougeot 2002 Horizontal: This was served as an "extra guest" at the end of the tasting. Only a Petit Vougeot but it more than held its own, shows how great Fourrier is. Expressive nose of red fruit with a bakery touch to it, toast, mushrooms, etc. Great palate, polished and soft, yet enough stuffing. Really nice wine. The softness of the 2009 vintage comes through. Good showing, can be drunk now.

outstanding young burg thats drinking really well early..Nose: red and dark fruit, smoke, earth and crushed rock. Palate is much of the same as the nose. Great freshness along with nice acidity. Well balanced and silky on the palate. This will improve over the next 5 years but can be enjoyed right now. Cheers!!

Also fairly light. More brambly and black fruited than the other 2 wines with distinct anise tones. Light, excellent acidity and a good dose of earth. Again, not austere by any means, but it is easy to see this improving with at least several years of age. Marvelous range of the lower end 2009s today.

Immediately open, rich nose, medium bodied, lots of red pinot fruit, still balanced, actually had no problem following a Chateauneuf de Pape, drinking quite nicely now, but should age well over the next few years

Needs about an hour to get rid of the CO2 and another to pull itself together. After about 3 hours it has become just so ridiculously delicious that I’m laughing out loud. Wonderfully smooth and seductive, but also fresh, mouthfeel with those deep and lovely aromatics of flawless dark fruit and earthiness. Just lovely.

Lovely, powerful perfumed nose. Rich deep palate, utterly beguiling and perfect for bistro fare. Humming.

La Paulée de New York: Vertical Tasting (Colicchio & Sons - New York NY): Tasting. Black cherry with some liqueur notes, chocolate and meaty spice. Fat fruit on palate with good spice and balance, moderate weight, moderate length.

La Paulée de New York 2013 Verticals Tasting (Colicchio & Sons, New York): Immediately has more impact on the nose than the 2007, lots of bright red fruit, very up front, very firm structure (or maybe just for the vintage?).
