Pale strawberry, like a deep rose, shy funky reddish nose, much deeper fresh and tart, underripe berry and red plum palate, medium finish. Delicious with chimichurri sousvide skirt steak.

Jura Focus Tasting: Meat, smoke, funky, raspberry and cherry, with a few green notes - plenty of interesting stuff on the nose. Good acidity, some more funky earthy character along with some bright red fruits. Through the mid-palate the intensity drops a little but by the finish it is back on track.

From memory. Relatively exuberant and fruity version of trousseau. decanted well as others have suggested but not sure if it mattered. Enjoyed with veal chops.

I haven't opened an 09 Trousseau from Ganevat in about a year, a number of Jura reds with only a little bottle age have been a bit disappointing in that time, and so I was interested to see how this would show. Fortunately, this is still showing a lot of energy, acidity and power with no sign of decline. Very impressive how delicate the wine is, but at the same time very structured and powerful as others have noted.

A bit of dissolved C02 upfront that blows off with some aeration. Bright cranberry/cherry aromatics and flavours are framed with complex vegetal, mineral and earthy notes, followed by a long, slightly tannic finish. Incredible juxtaposition of lightness and structure. Great wine.

Dinner and MMA at Dr. Culang's: Double decanted to get rid of a little dissolved CO2. Beautiful black cherry nose, ripe, the warm vintage showing itself just a little. On the fuller side in the mouth, but offset by some real texture, as if there were particles in suspension in the wine (perhaps there are). Ripeness on the palate is balanced by a savory, almost bitter note on the finish, which is masterful, if you ask me. People say Ganevat's whites are at another level than the reds. While that may be true, it should be considered no knock on the reds. I think they are fantastic too.

A Night of Jura Wines (Polena - Washington, DC): well, one good trousseau deserves another. this wine was even better than the puffeney, albeit a very different style. bright ruby color. the nose is just gorgeous: melted licorice, plums. this combination of fresh strawberry and earth aromas reminds me of an 09 beaujolais. the palate is bright, fresh and laced with lots of minerals. the mouthfeel is plush and the wine completely coats the palate. like a really good sonoma coast pinot noir, this offers rich red fruit, earth, but then takes the minerality to a whole new level. i'm beginning to think i'm in love with trousseau. wine of the night.

From memory, similar to note below, spicy and funky, but transparent and fresh, a little spritz at the beginning. Enjoyed with beef filet.

Spritzy chalkiness on the nose that is very delightful. This wine matches its light, airy feel with such power! Send me to Jura, please
