Agréable mélange de saveurs d'agrumes, de pêche et de brioche vanillée dans un texture boisée. Excellent avec un salade de roquette et d'orange et des crevettes épicées à la Montignac.

Plenty of butter and oak, pleasing vanilla and nice succession of flavors in the mouth - though lacking some fruit and acidity. Enjoyed the first glass but the second was heavy. Ultimately enjoyable as it seemed to invite slow sipping. Will drink again happily in the future.

Funny when I look at CT notes and see that I had a bottle of this wine exactly 1 year ago to the day. Anyway - since that time I've had the 09 and I can say that the 08 is far superior so if you can dig out any 08s at your local shop, go for those instead of the 09s.

As previously described a year ago, this wine is disappointing as it lacks the usual depth and complexity of years past. Still good with fish and certainly a good value, compared to its prior years, it just lacks the X factor.

We aren't usually fans of chardonnay but made a dinner specifically to highlight the lemony citrus flavor and rich mouthfeel of this wine. With the right food, it is really well done.

Burnt butter and custard prevail, overlaying tropical fruits. Rich, full textured, almost olive oil like with a cream brulee flavor profile. Monolithic oak and lacking the acid to keep it lively.

Clear, medium gold in color. The nose is clean, of medium intensity and shows some development due to the oak-aging. The nose has citrus, tropical fruit, some toastiness and lots of vanilla and oak. The palate is dry but very fruit forward and appears to have some sugar. Overall, this is a big wine, with above average acidity, alcohol, body and flavor intensity. The palate reveals stone fruit, tropical fruit and a noticeable buttery, creamy finish which is medium plus in length. The wine is good, but seems heavy and over-extracted, with the heavy use of oak masking the freshness of the fruit. More of a cocktailing wine than a food wine. Can drink now, but has potential for ageing. It may become more balanced with time, but the oak treatment might also become pronounced as the primary fruit flavors fade.

More tart than I remember from the last bottle we sampled. Green apple and honey on the palate, with a touch of butter to the finish. Very good once again.

Loads of butter and some creamy oak to go with the tropical and citrusy fruit. Not bad if you like this style but a little flabby for me. Needed a little more acidity for my taste. Ann liked it. I recommend serving it very chilled.

This wine was consumed in Truluck's restaurant (La Jolla, CA). It was ordered from the wine list to be paired with Alaskan king crab, South African lobster and Florida stone crab, all served with drawn butter. The robe is medium gold and the nose shows strong aromas of oak, honey and vanilla. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity and butter/oak flavors. The middle palate is full and the finish is relatively smooth. This wine is, to my palate, tantamount to drinking a liquefied oak plank. While it is certainly drinkable and was an acceptable match with the shellfish, it reminded me of why I usually drink white Burgundy or un-oaked New World Chardonnay (such as the "Silver" Chardonnay from this same producer). Drink now-12/13.

Crisp and enjoyable with a typical CA Chardonnay profile. Barrel fermentation provides a nice oaky element that some people may not like but if this is your preferred style of Chardonnay then you'll really like this one and $26 (at Costco) is a nice price.

this is usually consistent and right up our alley. however, this bottle fell very flat for me. the flavor profile was dominated by bruised red apple, and even bordered on being underripe. i didn't get any of the leesy, butterscotch and caramel flavors i've come to love with this wine. i am a fan of barrel-fermented, oaked chardonnay, but this one missed for me.

Crisp and fresh yet doesn't have the punch of prior years. Fruit is less intense and lacks the buttery finish. More mellow than past years. But for $23 it's just fine.
