A subtle strawberry and spice nose. Rich, textured fruit, cherry, strawberry, tarragon. Fine, polished tannins. Crisp acidity, perfectly balanced. The fruit darkens on the long finish with smoky notes. Beautiful wine. Will drink well for another 4 or 5 years.

Gorgeous nose, rich aromas of blackberry and cherry. Intense, polished fruit on the palate, currants, strawberries, cherries. Firm, polished tannins, great acidity, fabulous balance. Long, long finish of spice and dark fruits. Short term aging has served this wine well. Will probably drink well for at least another 5 years.

Dinner at Finistere in Port Townsend. Pinot was good out of the gate. PnP. Aroma and palate the same, savory notes with sage and dark fruit, smokey cherry. Medium to full body. Finish ends dry. Everyone at dinner thought this pinot was superb

Drinking very well right now. Lovely wine with still vibrant fruit, good acidity and nicely resolved tannins. Will probably hold for a couple of more years, but no need to wait.

PnD. Rich burgundy in color. Beautiful nose of strawberries, cherries, spice, and some cola. Just a year ago, the nose was fairly reticent but it really come into its own. Nice silky mouthfeel with pomegranate and some oak. Nice structure and acidity. Went great with grilled salmon with a farro butternut squash salad.
Surprisingly, there was very little difference between the Riedel Vinum and Vivant Burgundy glasses. Enjoyed at 62F.

Decanted for about 2 hours. Served at dinner party with spicy Peruvian duck dish. Both the medium+ body and moderate acidity paired well with the spice and the fatty nature of the duck, respectively.

Showed noticeably better balance and integration than the prior bottle five months ago. Blackfruit continues to predominate, but the complexity and smoothness have increased, as has the integration leading to the finish. Noticeably more mineral notes on the finish and still plenty of structure. This wine continues to evolve positively and I suspect will reward a bit more patience.

Rose, earth and raspberry on the nose. A big pinot noir, but with excellent richness and structure. California in style for sure, but well balanced; NOT a fruit bomb. Black raspberry and cranberry upfront, backed with a slight bit of cherry. Spice and earth notes on the finish along with very good acidity that contributes to good length overall. I believe this wine is still integrating and smoothing out. Plenty of structure and plenty of fruit suggest that this will continue to improve.

PnP. Brought to Butcher and the Boar. Dark burgundy in color. Like the first bottle, this had a fairly muted nose of sweet strawberries and spice, but no cola. On the palate, sweet berries framed by oak with a healthy amount of acidity to wash things down. Very nice, but I wish it had more of a nose. If it did, I'd give it a 93. Paired fantastically well with a fruity/smoked double cut pork chop.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Pinot Noir glass. Yes, I brought them to the restaurant. Good thing because the restaurant's glasses were severely lacking.

A bit more heavy than expected, quite CA in fruit profile but not overripe or a fruit bomb. Classic RRV cola and cherry, with ample tannins suggesting a long life ahead. Acidity was there but not quite integrated as much as I have liked as it felt a tad out of place. Good wine and will open my last bottle 3 years from now.

Vinturi'd: had with Christmas hand and it was a wonderful combination. Still suffering from a cold, so the nose of red berries is a bit muted. Very light and balanced wine with no perceptible heat. This was my first from Small Vines and I wish I had ordered more during the Lot 18 sale.

starting to fade. Still well balanced and good fruit, but now lacks the brightness that I have experienced in previous bottles.
