Found this in the 'mystery case' I picked up at the winery today and decided that it should be consumed soon so I made a meal that would compliment. No decant. Popped and poured. Some initial mustiness that blew off after thirty minutes. Still good color with little signs of bricking, though it was cloudy. Surprisingly not as much sediment as I was expecting. Nice dark ripe fruit of plums and cherry. Very enjoyable and paired nicely with the meal.

Simple wine, strawberry on the nose, lots of pepper & earth tones. A bit flabby in texture, lacking acidity and comes off semi-hot. Won't lay down long, drink now.

Purchased in 375ml from the restaurant wine list. Ruby color, a clear initial whiff of smokey oak moving to vanillin as this airs. The labels lists 13.7%, but this seems like more with a fair amount of initial alcohol. Chunky, a bit rough around the edges, yet delivering a pretty unabashed mouthful of Syrah-like Pinot. Some bramble and pine emerge with air, and this certainly has nice fruit. With seared duck and sauteed mushrooms, this humble wine was right at home.

Drank this one from plastic cups at the beach club. Still a fun, thoroughly enjoyable wine! No pretense, just good juice!

A bit hot on the start but evolves nicely. Some raspberries and spice and turns a bit sweet on the finish.
