Still very primary, even after a decade. Blackberries, blackberries and more blackberries. Hollow in the mid-palate but recovers in the finish. Has none of the meatiness and grip that I appreciate in this varietal. Pass.

Big, dark, black with a immense depth. And not too huge for all of that. Great for exploring, drink or hold, but I thinking holding will yield great treasure/pleasure.

Dark blueberry reduction, leather, clean. Fine balance, everything in check. The age is starting to show itself with a obvious an obvious oxidative character. The Tablas vintage chart suggests a closed phase; maybe fine tertiery flavors are around the corner?

Very developed with the tertiary flavors starting to dominate. Deep black fruit still present along with tree bark, blood sausage and dusty spices. Tannins are chalky at this point and not aggressive on the palate. Finish is savory leaving plenty to think about with each sip. Still needs air to fully come around suggesting several more years of potential.

Showing very well with significant air. Chewy, rich flavor, plenty of bright acid. Has a long life ahead. The Tablas Creek shows the wine closed right now; it was expressive to me. I'll keep an eye out for changes to the chart, I'm curious to see where this develops.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin and vanilla. It tastes like plum and blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. I don't think it would hold up another year, even though it's be carefully cellered since we bought it from TC. I'm glad we drank it now.

Meh, solid wine but under delivers on the opportunity of a Mourvedre. No real interesting fruit or earthy notes. This bottle was purchased directly from TC and cellared perfectly. Didn't detract from the meal (thick cut choice sirloin, baked potato, vine ripe tomatoes with bleu cheese crumbled) but didn't add to it either. The wine was not blown, just didn't have a lot to offer.

A business associate gave me this bottle in February, 2013, knowing that I’m a HUGE fan of Tablas Creek wines. This wine has a massive bouquet; the second I poured my first glass, the bouquet punched me in the nose while the glass was still sitting on the kitchen counter. After swirling and lifting the glass to my nose, I was able to decipher the aromatic elements. This wine has a flinty minerality quality, along with a tart fruit essence, very subtle floral and oak elements, as well as a slightly earthy element as well. This is one of, if not thee, best 100% Mourvedre bottlings I have ever had; Mourvedre can be real “meaty” and herbaceous; this vintage is much closer to a typical Syrah profile, with fabulous red and dark fruits up front, such as plums, raspberries, blackberries, and red currants, along with nicely balanced herbs and spices, such as black pepper and dried herbs typically found in Herbs de Provence. This beauty is PERFECTLY well-oaked (not too much or too little) which adds hints/suggestions/rumors of baking spices in the background, as well as a slight essence of creaminess. This wine is gorgeously well-structured, with incredibly elegant and food-friendly tannins and acidity that are not overwhelming and that are perfectly cohesive and well-harmonized with the flavor elements. Those tannins and acidity elegantly cleanse the palate after every sip, which leads to a fantastic, long, lingering finish. This Mourvedre is easily the best 100% Mourvedre I’ve EVER had in my life. I paired this beauty with oven-baked lamb chops spiced with Kosher salt, black pepper, and Herbs de Provence. This wine paired perfectly with the lamb chops and would pair well with just about any red meat dish in the world, especially a nice steak (porterhouse or rib eye), prime rib, Beef Wellington, lamb shanks, and even a Sloppy Joe or hamburger (homemade or from a trashy restaurant). This wine is drinking PERFECTLY well right now and has the “legs” to continue to age and mature beautifully for another 5-to-10 years (or longer?). Bottom line; this 2010 Mourvedre is fantastic!!!!!! As always, Tablas Creek practically hits either a home run or a grand slam with every single wine they make. And they should be SO proud of this Mourvedre.

Extremely enjoyable and drinking really well right now. The CT end date shows 2020, but I don't know if I'd want to wait as it's completely integrated, showing full 2ndary flavors in perfect harmony. Attractive QPR! Drank an '11 Justin Isosceles afterwards and I preferred the Tablas much more.

Interesting 100% mourvedre from Tablas. Not very fruit forward, more of the tar, leather and spice. The fruit that is there is dried black cherry and ripe black plum. The tannins are fairly grainy and pronounced and the finish is of medium length. Most likely this will mellow with some age.

Hard to place the nose. Maybe some green pepper and dill. Palate mostly big varietal fruit. Interesting to compare to French and Spanish mv. A bit of old world style comes through in the acidity. This is a good food wine. I had it with grilled chicken in a strong Harissa glaze, but it would be great with any kind of BBQ. It has one dominant fruit note or I might have rated higher, but I quite liked it and will get again.

W venison (wild) which was fantastic. Great cherry color, subdued nose of fruit and some herbs and spice. On the palate mostly light fruit. Frankly had expected something really different based on my experience with the 2008 (or09) version, which i remember as big. Thsi was indeed a bit one dimensional but also needs some time in bottle maybe. It got a bit more interesting after 2 hrs. Maybe it was the mismatch with my expectations that causes me to be "down" on this. I love everything else from TC.

Tablas Creek: Grapes for this wine are biodynamically farmed. rustic and wild dark red fruit, some new barrel? no 20 months in foudres. a ripe fruit palate with a touch of graham and vanilla. this is the last grape harvested at Tablas Creek. fresh and clean across the palate and tannin doesn't impose too much.
700cs.

A winner. Ripe black plums, leather, pepper notes (as some in our group observed) and chock full of tannins, although they're nicely integrated into the experience. My sense is this will be outstanding in five years. Drink now to 2018.

Popped and poured. Wine is a nice ruby red color. It doesn’t show in the glass, but there is a dark, tongue- and teeth-staining character. On the nose, there is strawberry, raspberry, and some slate. In the mouth, the wine is tangy, with nice, bright acid, as well as tannin that has been sufficiently integrated. This went nicely with food. Overall, it is an enjoyable, somewhat spicy and complex wine, but I’m not sure about the varietal character. 90 points.
