75% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon Nice aromatics with more focus on secondary notes of spice, tobacco, cedar but verging on tertiary notes with a meaty earthiness. The palate is still fresh but with soft resolved tannins, dark fruit and a touch of spice. This comes from the same family as Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou.

Nicely aromatic with black currant, mint and oak. Rich and structured, but chunky and clumsy. This is fine for the money, but lacks the elegance of proper Bordeaux. 87

Certainly a good wine, and true value for money. It was double decanted for 1 hour and overed up nicely. It kept on improving over the course of a 2 hour dinner. This wine gave a good expression of the terroir and the vintage. Drinkable now and will evolve and improve over another few years.

A deep colour; full, rich, slightly sweet, slightly burnt fruit, and still quite youthful. Not a great deal of complexity, but energetic and enjoyable; should keep well.

A deep colour; quite a full, soft and somewhat sweet-tasting wine, which is more forward than I was expecting. A rather modern-style wine, with ripe fruit and alcohol the main components, and not much real claret character.

much improved from my 1st bottle in 2014, yet still quite youthful and a bit fruit forward, but far less modern in style than I recall the last bottle. probably some upside from here, but was my last bottle. solid for sub $20.

A Listrac which is mainly merlot with 15% petit verdot. Still youthful, but quite clunky and disjointed. Charmless but probably an OK foil for something like lamb chops.

Surprisingly good. Slightly simple Merlot based nose. Good body and length. 20% new wood and 80% one year old Ducru Beaucaillou barrels. Excellent value at £16.

Cassis fruit, toasty oak, spices and tobacco on the nose. On the palate a bit blunt, drying tannins, firm and grippy. Bright, slightly sharp acidity, medium finish. A bit unyielding and simple. Good value overall, but unexciting. 85-87

This is a good effort for a cheap Bordeaux. I find, among the fruit, some vanilla and licourice notes. The taste is quite long with good acidity. Lacks a little bit of complexity to get a higher rating but still a good wine. 2,5 NJP

average wine guys notes are on point... ripe, and a bit simple. I got an obvious coffee note on this implying good dose of oak... missing the complexity I expect from a bordeaux... could have been from anywhere...

The 2010 Château Fourcas-Borie is medium purple in colour with purple currant dark prunes, plums, slight vanilla and medium alcoholic nose. On the palate, a soft entry of plums and ripe prunes. Smooth and balanced mid-palate as it progresses to a finish of gentle tannins and uplifting acidity. Simple and straight forward. Short finish but rather pleasant for its price point.

Fourcas Borie opens with cassis, spice and dark berry aromas. Round, filled with charm and pleasing to the wallet, this will be one of the top value wines from the Medoc in this expensive 2010 Bordeaux vintage. The wine was produced from a blend of 75% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The second vintage of Fourcas Borie, which was formerly sold under the name of Fourcas Dumont is from Bruno Borie of Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou. Filled with juicy ripe, spicy cassis, blackberry and earth, this charming, crowd pleasing wine will offer a lot of bang for the buck in the under $20 category. 88-90 Pts

Surprisingly still going strong, lots of fruit, even getting better after one hour of air. Excellent value!
