Kul!

Had hopes this would be more interesting now with 12yrs btl age on it then it delivered. Agree hole heartedly with swapdoc's Sept note and comments about the oak. I found the 14.5% Alc sticking out too much also. Disappointing at this stage. One left. Re-tasted a single left over glass from the btl 2 days later. From the frig and well oxygenated in a mostly empty btl this was pretty decent. Hard to know how much the low 50s temp hid the alc but it seemed more balanced. Still a bit oaky but plenty of flavor. 89pts on day 3.

Glad to had tasted this wine in its youth. Mature now, with just a hint of aromatic complexity peaking though mostly integrated muted fruit. Woody flavors dominate, tea-like tannins, linear mature fruit; lacks complexity and vibrancy. Seems to have aged too quickly compared to the still evolving '01. Hot vintage? Too much oak?
Very nice! Open for business although tannins are quite prominent but, to me, polished enough to enjoy now. Sweet perfume, slightly offset by some etOH. Fruit has just started to morph into seconday nuances. Could go on for quite some time but very enjoyable now with food (had with moose, cream sauce, rowan-berry and frittes - good pairing).

Intensitet: Medel. Färgar glaset? Nej. Gardiner: Medel +.
Served blind; Nobody here identified this as barolo, as the oak and alcohol were overly obtrusive; There is clearly some potential here, with a concentrated core of dark fruit ad spice, but this was not the best showing

Mistreated with a pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, bacon fat, cherry, and rose petals with undertones of earth and tar. Palate: Medium bodied, cherry and spice attack, superb balance and mid-palate persistence, tobacco and earthy characteristics join in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by cherry, spice, and earth. This is drinking wonderfully right out of the chute this evening - thanks to the vintage I suspect.

Coiled out of the bottle, multifaceted and balanced, this fascinates and pleases at the precipice of maturity, staying fairly intense even after blossoming with two much-needed hours in the decanter.

Hoped to catch this one while still fruit driven, youthful, sexy barolo. Both '01 and '03 Cerretta have already crossed the maturity threshold, showing more smooth, leathery but less playful profile. Success -- the ripe fruit from this mostly clay Serralunga single vineyard is simply exquisite. Just love tasting waves of succulent dark cherry, turning into a zesty essence of blood orange, finishing with hints of earthy underbrush and smoke. Aromatic and mercurial, with some residual oak left in the bouquet, finishing with a lingering wet wood smell. If anything, wished for a more tightly wound and tannic core -- almost too fleshy now, the legacy of the ripe vintage, missing the length and tension of '01. Very good.

Very enjoyable. Nose slightly petroleum and it didn't disappear even after an hour so. Colourist very pleasant, light and not opaque. Taste well balanced and light on sulphites

At this moment in its maturity I felt this showed too much oak and a little bit of alcohol. Did not provide much joy for me but gets the 90 for the wine I imagine it could be and might have been. I.e. I reckon it might have been in the infamous tunnel when I had it.

PnP This seems somewhat modern but still provides a classic Piedmont Nebi experience. The fruit is lovely and the finish goes on and on. Showed a little smoky oak at first but that blew off and the nose became more floral and berries. It took about 2 hours for this to really rock. So I'd decant or slow ox at least a couple hours before you drink it. This likely sees some oak but its very well integrated leaving the fruit and terroir very transparent. Tannins are there but prettty polished. Paid $45 and completely worth it. Happy to have 2 more.

Giovanni Rosso Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Also starting with great aromatic combination of spice, red berry and floral notes. Very well structured but incredibly fine tannins with great balance throughout. Long and intriguing finish. Very good potential.

As others have said, a simply brilliant nose of the most focused (pepper)mint I've ever come across. Very well balanced and also shows a trace of mint on the palate, I couldn't not pick one of these up. Surprisingly open for a store tasting, this may have been opened earlier in the day..

Superb nose, evolving a lot in the glass. A little to oaky in the mouth but a strong/long finish. Still to young, will definetly improve over the next years to come

En besvikelse. Stum med liten frukt och doft utan särskild blommighet. Helt drickbar så inte korkad men hade väntat mig betydligt mer. I tunnel?
