Very classic in style, but also pretty rustic and old-school. Notes of cedar wood, tobacco, sweet red berries, brown sugar and some leather. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium- acidity and medium+ tannin that is pretty rustic and a touch greenish. Medium length. An old-school, but authentic Barolo that lacks the finesse of the newer vintages.

1999s At Felidia (Felidia): Quite tight aromatically, hint of cellar on the nose. Juicy and more opulent that Bussia Soprana, but somewhat disjointed with the lack of aromatic follow through and overall angular structure.

Lovely perfume. More developed and savory than the younger versions served ahead of this. Not effusive but comes together very well. Hint of broth. Elegant but with power, and with a more savory progression than the 04 and 06. Excellent balance. This should be the same wine as the '99 Luigi Oddero and Fratelli Oddero Vigna Rionda

Light brick red. Lovely, clean aromas that reminds of tea, roses, pine needles and tannins. Rather coarse tannins in the mouth, and relatively low in acidity.

Opened and decanted for just an hour before serving
Pours dark garnet with some orange nuances.
On the nose it offered slate, roses, underbrush, leather and spices, eucalyptus. Very tertiary. But with some dark fruit.
Smooth but grippy tannins. Dark fruit, spices, florals and leather on the palate. All very well balanced. Very rustic old school Serralunga Barolo.

Decanted for about 4 hours prior. Dusty tannins and subtle elegance at this point. Maybe a year or two past peak but mellow and nice.

Rather light and restrained - maybe not fully opened up. In the background seductive layers of flowers and fruit. Overall rather dilute and faint.

Succoso e carnoso, frutta stile anguria. A volte lo scambiamo per Cascina Francia, questa è una di quelle volte. Veramente strepitoso comunque
