A friend I had given 6 of these to 10 years ago cellared them and brought the last one to our house yesterday. It was near the end of its life but smooth, delicate and lovely. It is a treat to receive a gift like that and we all enjoyed it as it disappeared almost immediately down 6 happy throats. My friend said it was going down compared to the one drunk 6 months ago, so you might drink up if you have them, pass if you do not. Light aroma, light taste, pleasant, not powerful. As you probably know this is from the fine Mike Januik era (pre 2000) at Ch. St Michelle.

Nice leather and tobacco taste. Very smooth and drinkable (we tasted against a 1998 Owen Sullivan Merlot which by comparison was harsh and a little rough.) If you can get a bottle, it's taken the age nicely and is ready to drink.
