Pnp. It has a great nose. It took a couple hours for the palate to open up but was beautiful round cherry vanilla cream. Very different from the 2006. A fantastic wine

50% Syrah, 50% Grenache. Deep garnet color in glass with browning evident. Robust and broad shouldered on palate. A little spicy. Maybe just a tad beyond peak. Alcohol (14.4%) peeks through. Will stand up to anything - red meat, cheese, bbq. No sediment. Needs one hour aereation to soften and open up.

With home made pasta and sauce (tomato based). Nice crimson, bright, not quite opaque but good color to rim. Inviting. Luscious nose (but not perfumed) of bright fruit perhaps cherry but not dark or foreboding. Almost sweet on the nose. Smooth, tannins softened with good balance between remaining tannin and acid, fruit still there. Good finish. Drinking nicely. An excellent wine.

While the nose is a little reserved, on the palate this wine gives the full expression of the Syrah with dark red fruits, cinnamon, mint and sage. The Syrah dominates the Grenache (50/50 blend). A terrific wine from Ridge.

Deep, dark ruby/purple. Smokey, earthy, spicy boysenberry nose. Palate, rich and complex with moderate tannin and nice lively acidity. I get tobacco, along with the boysenberry, blackberry and a hint of licorice. Jammy aftertaste that lasts at least 30 seconds. Plenty of life left.

Lovely, young drinking, rounded and well balanced. A joy to drink with a nice nose of spice, flowers, plum, blackberry and a little oak. Very smooth low tannin, but refreshing in the mouth. Great mouthfeel, not flabby. Surprisingly it went great with a slightly spicy seafood cioppino risotto. Probably great for the next 5 years our so but not much longer.

Big and spicy and Ridge. A bit flat as a pop-n-pour, but gained quite a bit of depth after about an hour. Dark fruits. Some acidity, at least after a bit of air, good tannins, and just a fun tasty spiciness that is very Ridge, if not necessarily completely typical for a Syrah/Grenache blend.

Took about an hour to open up without decanting. Very smooth and drinkable with some sweet fruit notes ending on an earthy/green note. A hint of meatiness to it. In the early part of it's drinking window - probably will hit it's peak in a year.

- Purple color and aromas of tea, blackberry, raspberry, cedar and vanilla. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry and raspberry with a full body. Polished texture - Popped poured. Just plain delicious.

Rich and dense, but nevertheless drinking easily. Nose is full of spice and earth, with black pepper, tobacco, sage and blackberry balanced with a mushroomy tone that dissipates into dusty notes as it breathes. Juicy black plums and blackberries on the palate, slight gamy notes, and hints of vanilla and allspice in the lengthy finish. Tannins are quite smooth, although not fully rounded out yet. Drinks very well now, but definitely has some years left.

Crazy cool aromas coming out of the glass, plums, grapes, grape stems and leaves, and hints of bell pepper. The palate shows delicious flavors of red fruits and fresh ground pepper, dried grape stems, and cocoa powder. All of these flavors are well integrated with the structure and linger long in the finish. Very good wine.

Dark and dense with deep and rich, slightly sweet fruit. Although this is 50/50 Grenache/Syrah, the Syrah seemed to dominate (there is no Viognier in this wine). This is still young and will continue to improve with time. Not a long-term ager, but certainly 4-6 years.

Opaque violet color with red fruit, tobacco aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with very smooth tannins, and cherry, raspberry, vanilla and a hint of bittersweet chocolate flavors. Medium-long finish. 50/50 Syrah/Grenache. 14.4 alcohol

This has a really nice old world nose with an addition of heat. The nose comes through with nice dark and red fruit, minerals, pencil lead and leather. In my opinion, this wine has an amazing nose especially after being open for an hour. On the palate, the nose continues with the fruit, pencil lead, minerality and an added touch of mocha. The structure is really nice in that you get the fruit, it coats the entire mouth and has a long finish. This is a well done combo of fruit and structure.

Mushrooms and black fruits on the nose. Tart cranberry and warm baking spice flavors, with soft tannins. Good acidity makes it food-friendly. Drink now or hold in the short term.

Beautiful nose of blueberries, leather, maraschino cherry. On the palate, an explosion of that same beautiful blueberry and red fruit mix, good acidity, ripe tannin in spades that turns leathery on the lengthy finish. A certain spiciness to it on the palate, a bit peppery. All in all delicious and paired just fine with a simple dish of pasta in tomato sauce. Disappeared in a hurry.

The Syrah over powered the Grenache.
It drank strong and big. Would be very good with grilled meats. I had it was fish and it was way to much wine.
