An impressive showing for a young wine with the structure and stuffing to impress over the upcoming years. On this occasion, the pop & pour approach did it a disservice until aerated for an hour plus, and I think substantially more time would have served it well. Ripe floral nose. Palate of raspberry ad red currants and coffee, with a nice floral aspect. More intense than delicate. An underrated estate when it comes to its red IMO, especially in great vintages (the 2005 sings!).
Le Salon du Vin de la Revue du Vin de France 2012 (Brussels): Much more open than the estate's second wine, which is curious. Red berry syrup at the nose with some liquorice and soft oak. Great fruit concentration on the palate mixed with lots of earthy notes. Chewy ripe tannins. Will age really well.
