Rich and chewy texture. Sweet tomato and sweet/ripe plum, sweet/acidic blueberry pie with cream. But obviously not actually sweet, and not overripe. Very nice.

Funky tart fruit, short tannic finish ..stop trying to make this thing into a wine it is not. Should rate it lower but the funky is slightly interesting . Doesn’t matter when you drink this mess, the tartness is not curable. Seems to be a lot of bottle variation due to cork issues.

Not many 13.6% abv wines being made in napa these days. The style is apparent immediately. Red fruited and tart and tangy and still carrying a bit of acid. But it's got enough body and flavor to carry it. This isn't the kronos vineyard but still westside benchlands vineyards which aren't that far away. Raspberry and more raspberry and some olive and forest floor. Probably a drink now but not on its last legs.

This Corison has aged very nicely and is ready to drink. The tannins have evolved and are quite soft making this smooth in the mouth and finish. Sedate and well-structured with a mild earthy fruit profile which is pleasant and not overpowering. Drink now to early 2024.

Still (too) heavy on the menthol/evergreen/eucalyptus.... Had hoped after this much time in the bottle those notes would have receded allowing something more interesting to come through. Guess this wine is just not my thing.

I love the nose - blackberries and wildflowers. Cherries, black olive, cocoa, and softening tannins. A beauty and should be excellent with our Wagyu ribeyes.

Nose: fruit forward (ripe blackberries, cassis, and raspberries), wildflower/floral perfume, dried leather, oak. Palate: dried leather, cranberry dominates as well as red raspberry, more tart than the nose suggests; fruit takes a back seat to oak which lingers throughout. Purchased due to the fact that this winery has a reputation as one of the more "old world" style producers in Napa. This wine is very good, but it's hard to justify the price point.

Deep inky crimson in colour Powerful berries on nose, black olives, chocolate, vanilla, morello cherries. First hit on the palate is sweetness, then the acidity shows through. Red currant, red berries in general. Silky integrated tannins Slightly bitter in the fruity finish.

Not possible to top this with a NY Strip on the grill. Sedate and suave black cassis fruit with just a hint of herby/eucalyptus. Soft tannin, and drinking beautifully right now. Brava.

Tasted at the Wine & Spirits Top 100 Symposium in NYC. This 10 year old is developing nicely. It should still have another decade+ ahead of it but it is starting to be very drinkable now. It was quite delicious yet still well structured with a red fruit profile (red plum, red currant, a little black cherry), some graphite, game meat, earthy notes including tobacco and some chocolate on the finish. I liked this a lot.

Surprisingly youthful which leads me to believe this can still go several more years. Heavy cherry and menthol presence which gradually calmed down over a couple of hours of decanting. Picked up slight hints of earth and bell pepper as well. Very smooth texture. Paired nicely with steak.

Bring a Barolo or Brunello... or any good red (Broders): I was going to score this 90, but I wrote 92 on my notes, so there you go. There is a touch of the modern style of Napa in this, which was attributed to the vintage. It is mostly a traditional Napa cabernet, elegance and grace on a lean frame. This was not lacking in flavor, and it seemed sophisticated. I suspect that just another 2-3 years of cellaring may serve this wine well.

PnP with 45 min decant over ice to help bring down to proper temps at Wild Olive in Rosemary Beach. Damp forest, wet rock, BDX notes on the nose, cherries and scorched earth on the palate. Not as good as prior bottle, but we enjoyed with a nice meal. Needs more air time or more cellar time.

City Club Fort Worth Wine Event (City Club Wine Room - Fort Worth): The nose was definitely Cab, but one with a little age; underlying blue fruits, but more earthiness, tobacco, dust on the nose; really great mouthfeel; silky; secondary characteristics coming through with sustained fruit but not the primary flavor, more mineral, pencil lead up front, then black, blue and red fruits layered upon each other; tannins under control; excellent.

90 min decant. Singing right now with many years of life. Mrs. Geaux loves it too! Blood, iron, red fruit, cherry menthol. Old school and simply delicious.

Well made but this bottle was not exactly in my wheelhouse, showed less fruit and more secondary than many 7 year old CA cabs. I preferred the '10 version.

Phenomenal cab, had with John and Susan at Fruition. From memory ... soft tannins, fairly light on the fruit (meaning not Parkerized), everyone agreed it was excellent. Should have plenty of time left, but don't know that there is much of a need to wait, it's so good now.

One of my favorite cabs! One word describes this wine, and that is powerful! This wine shows Cathy's determination and attention to detail. Bold nose with deep flavors that is complemented with an elegant finish. This is how wine should be!

All I can say is Thank You Cathy Corison!! One, if not, the best wines I've had! Strong nose opens up a bold, deep, powerful, knock your socks off cab! Have the 2010, but buying more of the 2009 ASAP!

I normally like a bit more age (?10 years at least) before I drink a Corison Cab, but whether it was the vintage, because it was in a half bottle, was with good food, or because it had a good decant (probably all of the above), but this went down effortlessly. Gentle fruit, perhaps not as much blackcurrant as other vintages I've tried, and soft tannins. I guess will get better with time but excellent now.

Had this open over a couple of days, it just never got going. But it will in my opinion. It needs serious age. Drinkable now with aggressive decanting. Bright and tight.

Napa Valley winery visits April 26: Crushed floral, mineral, leather, anise and currant aromas. Rich currant, blackberry, spice, tea and cedar flavors- densely layered. Silky and polished with fine firm earthy tannins. Very nice. Needs time. 92+

Popped and ... recorked. This wine gave up nothing in the first day. 30 hurs after opening it starts to sing. Eucalyptus, pepper, cocoa. Baby killing for sure, but couldn't resist the split in the store. Such an elegant and balanced wine. Needs years still. Note to self, keep your hands off the 750.
