still showing well even with Best Enjoyed 8 to 10 years ago. Christian made a REAL winner with this Zin. Down to my last 2 bottles from the 2.5 case I bought. Wish I would have gotten more.

Another bottle of Christian's last production of OVC. Good balance with hints of dark fruit. Just a hint of remaining tannins offset by the front end fruit. Classic Zin spiciness. Went well with the paella and other Hispanic foods at this potluck

Color: tinge of brown halo around dark garnet Nose: candied cherry Flavor: candied fruit & raisin first sip, then lots cedar, cigar box Mouthfeel:thin for a zin with a short finish
This wine is just past its peek but I certainly enjoyed it.

A much more extracted color, bouquet and flavor profile than the Hug. But then, it’s more manufactured than the Hug. The wines are different styles of the same grape and share the funky rhubarb notes but little else. That said, for sheer Zinfandel fun, the nod goes to the Four Vine. It delivers extracted, deep brambly fruits with an unctuous mouthfeel. The richness of the mouthfeel carries the wine for me, while the Hug shows more genuine Zin fruit. No sediment. 14% alc. While enjoying the ‘Dega race with teammates David Ragen and David Gilliland making it a 1, 2 finish and with pizza. Recommended.

Decent lil bbq zin. Much more tart and tangy than the massive wine I exprected. Lots of sour cherries and a touch of vanilla. A lil thin on the palate but not a major issue. Went well with slow cooked port ribs, Indiana potatoes and a delcious spinach and avacado salad.

Shade on the light side for a Zin. Plum nose with some spice and vanilla. Palate is of tart black fruit. Some oak on finish. Good value. Improves significantly with a few hours of air.

Gosh, this is hard going. Not had a Zinfandel for quite a while and suspect it will be a while before the next one. This seems like a wirery old fighter - lean, tough but packs a punch.
Smokey, leathery bacon nose. Wild cherries on the plate and a sweet alcoholic finishes, not dissimilar to the end of a Port.
Not for me.

- Crimsom color. It's lacking fruit with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a short finish - Light body. Pepper and dark fruit on the nose. Similar on the palate with the pepper dissipating on the mid-palate with a longer sour fruit finish.
