Jacob's Creek Reserve was my first favorite value wine since 10 years ago when I discovered it in college. Only 3 dollars more than the regular Jacob's Creek (which is only fit to cook with) and you get some of the best bang for your buck out there. The Shiraz is my true favorite, a punch-you-in-the-mouth fruit bomb that somehow also has subtle and delicate flavors and complexity along with it. I gave the reserve Cab a try as well and although not as great as the Shiraz, it was still enjoyable. Blackberry and coffee the major flavors, with some bite that probably would have faded if I aged it longer before drinking or gave it a nice long decant. Overall enjoyable and I'd drink again.

A fairly typical Cabernet. Cassis, some violet, blueberry and a hint of coffee and mint on the nose. On the palette - coffee, cassis, and blackberry. Medium tannins, somewhat of a short finish. Could probably age another year.

Ripe Blackberry, cassis, cedar and cacao at the nose with notes of mint. Rich palette with well-integrated smooth tannins and some spiciness. Very good already but will also age well.

Sharp pepper notes, overly spicy and aggressive red fruits. Not balanced.
