Pungent aromas of musk, smoke and animale come through immediately, showing impressive intensity and punch. There are also stony elements with the dark red cherry fruits with again, meat juices, salted beef jerky and some leafy notes. Reasonably tannic (especially for vintage) but taut and compact in the mouth, though somewhat average in length. This is showing age and while the tannin is fully intact, there is sufficient secondary flavors at work that offer very good interest at present.

Fairly intense and ripe dark fruit flavours (black cherry and plum), with a slightly harsh edge on the finish. Good for a village wine, and good for the vintage.

A curious wine, with fresh, vibrant fruit, good weight and a long finish, but also a rather green, almost unripe taste which is odd in such a hot year.

Fresh raspberry and redcurrant fruit; a touch of sweetness but with good balancing acidity; medium weight, soft, ripe, round and refreshing; a very enjoyable Burgundy, if not in the highest class, but very good for a village wine.

Quite ripe and rich, with lively cherry/raspberry fruit and a slight green/metallic edge (reminiscent of nettles, or even geraniums): in fact, this tasted more of young vines than "Vielles Vignes", so perhaps the apostrophes are significant.

Dark red, bordering on purple. Nose is slightly funky, really just a touch of meaty-earthiness. Cherry fruit upfront, followed by spices and a hint of creamy vanilla. Restrained right now, the palate is polished, but lacks something-a bit too soft if that makes sense. Decent, but I'd like to try again in another couple of years.

Very ripe and lush, but possessing lots of earth and mineral notes. Balanced, with plenty of acidity and structure underlying the primary fruit. Nice, full finish. Drinking beautifully now, but should get even better.

I liked this for a village wine, still good fruit and lively without much secondary.

Lightish but refreshing raspberry/cherry fruit. There is an intense purity of flavour, although it is not a weighty wine. Very enjoyable.
