Consumed over 3 days. This was much more evolved than my 2005's have been, probably vintage-dependent. Not as forward, showing some nice secondary flavors of tar and earth. There was a bit of funk from the beginning and it increased on each day.

Reporting from memory, so no detailed notes, but I really liked this one. It was a feminine, perfumy expression of RbD.....boysenberry, tobacco, moderately prominent oak, and a distinct, lingering floral character on the finish. Only fault was that it was a bit alcoholic, but this might smooth out with more time in the bottle, and this one has sufficient acid and tannins to go for several more years. Nice QPR on this one.

Appearance: ruby, slight bricking, clear, minimal sediment, long legs. Nose: Raspberry primary, with eucalyptus, plum, smoke, and bit of barnyard. Taste: Raspberry primary, with cherry (almost Jolly Rancher), some earth, bit of barrel char. Attack: soft and round for about 10 seconds, and then the acid and EtOH take over. Not much tannin here. Medium and tart finish. Window: now-2017. Overall: Nice, but could be more balanced. Average QPR at $20.

Every time I drink this Wine, it makes me smile. It is a very fine eksponent of the region. Long mouthwatering finish and excellent balance between acidity and sweetness.

As per notes prior - agree. Perhaps a little pricey for this @ 35$ CAN, but worth it and the 7 yrs in bottle has done well for the experience. Like the comments of soft, smooth fruit that is med/full bodied and has some complexity. Fruit, leather, smoke all combined together to make a tasty experience that you want to sample more of...
Best with nice meal and would hold for a few more years I would think.

Absolutely a great Ribiera del duero. It embodies a long range of notes that keeps you interested until the last drop. among the soft fruity notes you will find roasted nuts, licorice, thyme and minerals. A subtle and well balanced wine that can carry even strong cheese and tapas with anchovies.

The Crianza shows a much darker color than the V.S., a dark red central core that isn't as translucent as the previous wine and a darker red to purple rim. The aromas jump out of the glass where the fruit, dark fruits with sour cherries hide behind a huge wall of aromas composed of licorice, spices, espresso, roasted meat, smoke, violets, roasted red peppers, and crushed stones. On the palate flavors of dark plums, blackberries, and sour cherries arise on the attack that give way to a mid-palate dominated by dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and meat aux jous. The finish on the wine is intense with dark fruits, cloves, crushed pepper, and a touch of crushed stones all enveloped by smooth polished tannins. A very mid to full bodied wine that is balanced and well integrated between ripe fruit, a great mid-palate, and polished tannins.

Excellent, showing lots of toasty-chocolaty oak, freshly-turned topsoil, pomegranate, mulberry, tobacco, saddle leather, and generous fine tannins. Lingering, lip-smacking finish.
One can't beat Spain for value. This wine was worth much more than the $20 I paid for it.

twee uurtjes van tevoren in karaf. Goed idee, zeer donker, krachtig, rijp, misschien iets te veel alcohol.
zal waarschijnlijk nog beteren.

Color of dark red. Scents of cherry and red fruit with hint of spice/licorice. Tastes same. Consistent notes.
