Deep ruby. Dark fruited with a touch of meatiness on the nose. Quite a lot of fine sediment in the bottom portion of the bottle. The dark fruit has a slightly baked character to it. Holds well overnight and resolves slightly, still with a sense of structure, but softening with air, the slightly pruny cooked character easing too. OK now with food, but could do with a little while longer to fully integrate. ***

A bit tired aromas with wet wool and burnt oak. But also some nice pinot noir aromas left. And the mouth feeling is still fresh and fruity. I suspect they have been too munificient with the fire when toasting the barrels.

Smoke, smokish and sweet vanilla. After two three deep long sniffs, you can finally smell the very nice grapejuice that is covered by the oak. There is sweet red berries, early autumn forest and some leather.
Deep intense flavours comes around when finished with the smoked vanilla-three...It has a quite velvety mouthfeeling and a quite tight and structured acidity that makes it very nice with the food.
But you need to be a forestfriend to look forward to the next bottle...

here is where the evil of over oaked rears its ugly head- there's plenty of "stuff" here- dense ripe fruits, good acidity, but it is all muted by a rounded, "false" edge. not awful, but an underperformer by a long shot.

Nice mellow red, not to deep but quite intense.
