A wine with some real character. Very dark red, almost muddy color with a nose of dark cherries. The palate features dark cherries, it is slightly sweet and slightly green around the edges. More CA than OR style. Very good length and balance. Heavier than Patricia Green Cellars and not so elegant, but it grows on you. Fully mature IMO, but should have quite a few good years left.

Whites and Oregon Pinots w/ a Sauternes Kicker (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Black cherry, spicebox, and sauvage on the nose. The palate is dense, full bodied, ripe black cherry, dark plum, spice character, long, shows some heat though. A nice drink, and one that maybe can last a couple years more. 91+pts.

I drank a bottle last January that was bad so I was hesitant to uncork another bottle from my cellar (55 degrees).
This bottle was equally bad. Very feint cherries on the front end followed by generic cola and then minerality. Could not drink it. I'll call the vineyard and see if they will do a make good. I still have two bottles of this nasty stuff left.

almost no fruit on the nose of this wine. tossed into a decanter for 30 mins after opening, but it didn't seem to help it at all. slight scent of pomegranate on the nose. also some tree bark. not really impressing me at all and I thought this could be a good wine to go with pork chops. I hope this was just a bad bottle.

Really, really nice. Fruit, low alc 13.5, smooth. Not sure if this will really last until 2019. But that doesn't mean no. St. Innocent and LeCadeau continue to be my favorite Oregon PNs.

This brute is savage, wild, crazy, a whirling dervish of a pinot but just keeps throwing off dark fruit bombs one after another! Mark says to keep it up to 9 years (2020), but wow, I say 15 won't hurt it if properly stored (2026).
Big. Still trying to find its focus.
Its on the dark fruit savory side of the palate so decide accordingly but its going to be a wonderful bottle with a Thanksgiving Turkey in another 3-5 years and a roast game hen in another 10.

From a 375 popped and poured, consumed over 1 hour. Nose: Medium expressiveness, cherry and dusty earth. Palate: Medium bodied, nice balance, dark red fruit attack with earthy mineral characteristics appearing mid-palate. Finish: Medium plus length dominated by earthiness and dark fruit.

LOVED this. But it doesn't taste like any other St. Innocents I can remember, and I've had many over the years. The fruit is typical Oregon--darker than California, more plum than cherry--but it has all kinds of savory green notes without seeming the least bit underripe, especially tomato leaf, a quality typical of Santa Barbara area pinots, not Oregon. The combination, with a bit of bay leaf and cinnamon, is absolutely magical and though I believe it has the tannins to keep on going, I'm not even going to put the second bottle in my inventory because I'm not going to be able to keep my hands off of it.

The aromas had the bright cherry you expect but it also had a savory element and a hint of pepper that was unexpected. On the palate, bright rich fruit flavors that tended toward red cherry with a darker berry (black cherry?) note, savory spices like Bay Leaf and then it ended with a tannic spine that is more than you usually see from St. Innocent or Oregon Pinots in general.

From 375. Very nice nose of licorice, black cheery, loam and herbs. Palate has a hint of edgy alcohol and is slightly hollow in the mid palate, but otherwise had great poise, with fine acidity and tannins. Finishes strong with a mix of black cherry, earth, and herbal notes. Could use a couple years to round into form.

Tasted this blind vs. the 2009 St. Innocent Villages Cuvee. The wife and I both preferred the Villages wine, although this was still quite nice. This is a bigger wine, and rougher with comparatively prominent tannins and heat. Also more earthy but still plenty of fruit. I suppose this may age better, but for now the Villages is significantly better.

Willamette Valley - Tasted at winery: This is a big wine. Nose of spices, dark berries. Flavors of spices, black fruits. Would go well with heavy, earthy foods.

Jubilee cherries and licorice on nose. Darker on palate and a touch sweeter than I expect from OR. Would have guessed RRV.

Very nice wine. Need to hang on to the other 2 for at least 3 years. Good structure, nice balance, nice bright cherry and other red fruit.

From 375ml. A little closed, quite loamy with cherry pit favors. Chewy tannins. A nice wine, but prior bottle had a little more fruit.
