This was a terrific bottle of pinot. Wish Id taken notes, but did not. Clearly an Oregon pinot with dark fruits, spice, earthiness, a lean texture, and good grip. Smooth overall but also with some sharpness in the medium-long finish. Great food wine and other than being fully integrated and very harmonious, nothing to hint at its age.

I thought this was delicious. Certainly bigger than average, it reminded me most of a Peay in an average year. That said, it's floral, fruity, and deep. Wish I'd bought more.

I know this is a warmer vintage, but PG is supposedly a classic producer of Oregon pinot. I am not impressed by this bottle, which was tasted over four hours, the final two decanted. Restrained, but lacking character.

PnP through Nuance wine finer. Dark purple. Cherry cola on the palate, with some earthiness and moderate tannins. Definitely more of a new world style, but very enjoyable. 89pts. Aloha!

a wine that with proper aeration really shines. a nice amalgam of cherries, pomegranate, acidity, red currant, vague floral elements and a touch of spice. delicious

Warm area in a warm year. Good aromatics but not fresh/bright enough for my tastes. I'm drinking up most of my 09 Oregon Pinot except for a few producers/vineyards.

Humm...Looking at the previous tasting notes before opening, they cover the gamut. Here is my read.
Fairly dark color and murky. Nose is dark fruit, black cherry, sandalwood, and either a touch of heat or VA showing as whiff of nail polish, difficult for me to distinguish the fine nuance. Fruit is muted on the palate and hot spicy notes. Medium acidity and medium/light weight. There is a bitter hint on the roof of the mouth at the finish.

Agree with another taster who said this was on the dark side...haven't had the Whistling Ridge yet, but it was much darker in color and flavor than the Olenik. It was completely different, reminded me of an CA Pinot (that may or may not be a good thing depending on your point of view).

Nice black cherry nose with a bit of candied orange peel. Medium bodied with medium acidity. Black raspberry and black cherry fruit and a bit of orange here too. Some light tannins that carry the fruit through the finish. A bit darker than the '09 Whistling Ridge or Olenik and it reminded me of a nice Pommard from a warm vintage.

Loved it. Juicy and acidic and a little earthy. Probably wouldn't have lasted too much longer

At meriwethers in portland with halibut and scallops. Good wine with good fruit and tannins and good length. Probably lot better in about 2 years.
