I like it. My favorite wines are generally so much on the red fruit spectrum but I believe Mugnier does such a great job whilst leaning towards purple fruit perceptions. Plus it is Chambolle, anyway. So this wine has very light bodied purple fruit, like tart plum, and tons of minerals in the lime rock, hard and soft, perception range. Its easy-going yet complex, quite perfumed, or maybe like cologne, as it comes across masculine. I also detect dark soil, in this lovely, great drinking Burgundy.

Dinner at The Grill with DJCV: An uncharacteristically solar and weighted Mugnier. Not the ballarina one might expect in leaner vintages. Rustic, but deliciously so. Disagree with other assessments that the wine is past peak or losing fruit. Can age further imo.

Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 2010. Nydelig skinnende frukt. Ren, parfymert og forførende. På smak er den slank og elegant. Medium konsentrert og meget fresh. Ingen skarpe kanter i sikte. Nydelig nå men ingen hast. Smooth og lang utgang med de fineste tanniner. Deilig Village. 91-92p

Pale, colour out to rim; some fragrance on a shapely nose, stemmy (they are used), red fruit; pointed, supple, spicy; an awkward edge to finish - maybe needs more time. Very long.

Fat integrert i munn og deilig markert syre. Saftig pent balansert med fantastisk konsentrasjon for nivået. Meget lang. 92

Perfectly enjoyable village Chambolle. In a line up of great other wines didn’t fully hold its own though and my expectations were for a bit more here given vintage and producer. Reductive entry and then some brambly red fruit. Just missing a bit of a kick.

A bit of stinky barnyard on the nose. On the palate I found this to be quite tight and thin tasting, tart cherry and lots of acid - clearly needs much more time in the cellar.

Funky even barnyard nose, gets worse with air. The youngest by palate (and age) against a 2007 roumier and 2009 Cathiard, both chambolle musingny villages. Tasted at once like dark cherries and hot cherry pie. Delicious but wanting length and richness.

Ethereal wine shining with cherries, wild strawberries, santal and gingerbread aromas. Still holding up a little bit to fully come together, this will require 1-2 years to reach the harmony on the mouthfeel. That being said, this is great a Chambolle from Mugnier.

Coravined. Took good 30 mins for this to open up. Beautiful nose, floral, forward, and clean, so Chambolle like! Sweet and smooth on the attack, firm mid-palate with medium length and slight warmth at backend. Vibrant acidity of the vintage. Notes of flowers and spices with deft handling of oak, just enough oak to keep everything so interesting. Not showing the exuberant and balance of previous bottle 18 months ago but still a gorgeous wine. Yum! Yum! Will look out for '02, '05, and '09 vintages which are still absent in my cellar. Finishing off the bottle 3 months later (12/Oct), the bottle is in semi-shut down stage, subtle nose, not much fruits on the palate, dry extract on mid-palate, at this stage, it's probably a 90-91 pts. Timing is everything on opening a Burgundy! Good thing that I have another 6-pack in offsite storage, no point opening this for another 5 years.

Show stopper. Beautiful nose, floral and expressive with a sweet tone to it. Smooth and sweet on the attack, glide through the palate, slight warmth at finish. Silky and oily texture. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and excellent balance. Appears to have added on more weight and complexity since the previous bottle about 2 years ago, shows better spices too. Big improvement and mind-blowing stuff, no sign of it shutting down yet. This is a village? Really? Probably as good as it gets for a Chambolle village! Should beat out a lot of CM 1er Crus. Easily blows the 2007 Mugnier 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale out of water. Went and bought another 6-pack. From Mugnier website, CM is assembled from 2 plots , Les Plantes (0.56 Ha, 1er Cru, planted in 1968-69) and La Combe d'Orveau (0.77 Ha, Village, planted beween 1952-1998). So there is decent portion coming from 1er Cru. Need to pick up more back vintages of this wine. 92-94 pts (A)

France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/24/2013-4/26/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. Beautiful nose; expressive and floral with pure red pinot fruits. Great acidity and balance with fine yet and grippy tannins. Has a delicate but intense palate. Solid length with a tart and sappy raspberry finish. Texture is wonderful for a village wine. Complex for such a young wine. Needs 7+ years. Excellent. 90+

Fresh raspberry, red cherry aromas with floral hints. Lighter styled red fruit again on palate with just modest spice. Classically Chambolle in textures, this has elegant acidity with great minerality that together serve to expand and lengthen the wine's flavors and finesse.

Served alongside the '10 Vogue Chambolle Villages. Seems to have picked up some deeper color since the last time I've had this, but still lighter than the Vogue. A beautiful mix of red cherry, berries, floral and spice in the aromatics. The palate has definitely picked up a little weight as well. Medium bodied, well structured red fruit on the palate with a medium finish. Wonderful depth and purity of fruit. Great minerality on the finish with cleansing acidity. Showing lovely now, but will definitely be better with more time.

This really was quite tight in the beginning, needing a lot of air to get going. With enough time in the glass, and especially on the second day, this was a deligthfully airy and fresh wine, a real Chambolle. Outstanding intensity and depth for a village wine and that lovely weightlessness that is so Mugnier. Not overly complex, but what you get is really joyfull. So smooth and pure that it will be hard to keep hands off, but these are really built to age also. A wonderful villages.

Domaine Tasting at J.F. Mugnier (Burgundy, France): From tank at the Domaine, just prior to bottling. Firm red berry fruit with great freshness and concentration. Pretty fruit on the palate as well. Mineral structure with great balance and finishing acidity. Medium finish.

Clean, pure and a touch on the light side but quite nicely delineated; tannins are not aggressive. 89-91

France 2011 - Côte d'Or; 7/8/2011-7/13/2011 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. From barrel. This was a sample of Combe d'Orveaux which will get blended with Les Plantes when they do the first racking. Fresh nose of juicy red berry fruits and hints of earthiness. In the mouth it’s intensely flavoured and lively with softer tannins and nice acidity. Very nice. (89-91).
