- Ruby color and aromas of cherry, dusty and mushroom. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry and strawberry jam with a medium body. Smooth texture with a long finish - Decanted 90 minutes. Ready now or it can age.

Nose of spiced cherries and wet cedar. Pomegranate and cherry with a hint of mint on the finish. Long 30 second finish. Decanted 1 hour. Holding up well. I would drink them if you have them.

Decanted for ~45 minutes. Virtually identical to the bottle consumed on 10/23/17. The nose yielded some dark red fruits and light earth tones. The palate served up a basket of red and dark red fruits, a dose of spice, acidity to achieve balance, and a small touch of cola. Again, slightly less fruity than the 4/29/17 bottle. I would recommend enjoying sooner rather than later.

Decanted for about an hour. Just a tad less impressive than the bottle consumed back in April. The nose yielded some dark red fruits and light earth tones. The palate served up a (slightly diminished) basket of red and dark red fruits, a dose of spice, acidity to achieve balance, and a small touch of cola. With this very slight fading of fruit, I would recommend enjoying within the next couple of years.

Double decanted and slow ox for 2 hrs. Very pleasant, fresh aromatics at open. Needed four hours and only got slightly showy on the taste at that point. Pretty all around and holding up well but didn't get me where I was expecting to go. Perhaps a victim of hype machine?

PnP, but could benefit from a short decant. Had alongside the 2009 Moonshine Ranch and everyone liked the Blue Slide better. The nose yielded some light earth and a distinctive whiff of funk - which blew off quickly. The palate served up a basket of red and dark red fruits, a good dose of spice, and perfect acidity to achieve balance. What was missing (thankfully) was the cola element, which we are growing tired of. Should hold for a good couple of years.

Medium deep scarlet blue. Bright dried cherry cola flavors. Served on the cooler side this is a delicious Pinot if perhaps slightly lacking that extra verve of some other years of BSR. Holding up fine. No reason to rush

My second 2009 Blue Slide Ridge within the past 12 months. Pretty consistent. One of the better vintages I have had of BSR, not quite as good as 2007, but so far, better than 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Had this at a Martinelli night of my wine group. We had the2011 Chardonnay Bella Vigna, 2009 and 2012 Blue Slide Ridge Pinot Noir, the 2009 and 2012 Bondi Home Ranch Pinot Noir , the 2006 Syrah Hop Camp Vineyard, and the 2007 Zinfandel Jackass Vineyard. All the wines were, except the Chardonnay were opened, but not decanted 30 minutes prior to the dinner, with the Syrah and Zinfandel being drank last, they received the most breathing time.
The two 2009 Blue Slide Ridge might have been the 2nd favorite wine of the night. It was everything I would want in a CA Pinot. Acidity, light red fruits, long finish. However as the night went on and it sat in the bottle and people got to retry it, it turned clunky. Hard to explain, but as I normally would finish the bottle long before it sat for 90 minutes, I am not going to worry about it.
All that being said, normally the WA rates the Blue Slide Ridge as Martinelli's highest rated Pinot. But not in 2009, they rated the Bondi one point higher, and after last nights tasting, I agree.

Drinking well; mellowed into a nice, flawless middle-weight Sonoma pinot. $100 worth of middle-weight pinot? That's a different question, but one that it's far too late to be asking.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, cherry, forest floor, mushroom, oak and violet. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Burgundy color with a wonderful bouquet and flavor of black cherries, raspberries, toasty oak, and brown sugar. Rich and full, yet with grace and finesse--what Pinot Noir (and Burgundy) should be.

On opening, the nose has blackberry bramble with a hint of pencil lead. The lead fades and leads to a dark fruit jam with hints of anise and dried cherry. On the palate, this explodes with dark cherry, a bit of cedar and vanilla. Tannins are a bit dry, but this was a pop and pour. Is this a classic Pinot? No way! But what a lovely, spicey concoction. A great pairing with Asian food, I would think. But don't go here if you are looking for a Burgundian style.

Drank with family at Story in Prairie Village. Followed two bottles of Champagne and was a nice complement to appetizers and fish main courses. Everyone loved, although I don't think it shined (shone?) like I'd expect. Needs another year or two. May have been overwhelmed by all the food.

Lovely burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of black and red cherries with good balance, a lot of depth, and a long finish. Possibly a bit too big, but very nice drinking.

hit the high notes after an hour decant - lush, ripe wild berries, cola, bold and drinking very well. Not much more life --drink up.

Rich dark fruits, sweet, moderately grippy tannins. A little out of balance compared to other bottles of this I've had, yet still decisions.
