The bottle says it is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Roriz. 13% abv Some cassis and eucalypt on the nose, but also some savoury overtones. This has opened up in the glass over a couple of hours. It's really quite gentle on the front palate. There is no big fruit here, and it is initially subtle with a hint of black tea, then some olive coming through with a wisp of licorice. The tannins build from mid palate on to provide some good length on the finish. I probably should have given this a couple more hours in the decanter, but it has proven to be highly satisfying none the less.

Portuguese Reds (Sydney): Colour: Medium intensity ruby, clear with tears Nose: Clean, medium intensity developing wit with aromas of jammy red fruit including strawberries, cherry and raspberry. Mouth: Medium plus acid, medium plus tannin, jammy generic red berry and cherry fruit, slight oak, slight tannic grip. The wine finishes a little bitter.

Portuguese Table Wines (SF Wine Trading Company): Medium center. Sharp, cherry tones. Ripe cherry first impression with some sap and a bit of herbs, but overall relatively simple and fruit driven. Falls off at the end.

Medium bodied. Raspberry and black tea with a hint of licorice. Subtle tanin , very little oak influence. Lovely drinking

This is a smooth, rich red with elegant character. Lots of wild red fruits, herb and spice flavor. Soft tannins and an elegant finish.
