Cornflower yellow; classic, iodine, saline, crushed rock; whilst retaining plenty of zip this has broadened out; fully mature.Very long indeed. Perfect with mussels.

White flowers, melon, with an underlying current of stone. The wet concrete description is weird, but there's a hint of it there. Acid was there but did not overwhelm. Much "rounder" wine that expected from a Muscadet but makes sense with the vintage. Had with dinner on day 3 and the fruit was a little fleshier and still very enjoyable. Wife approved, so bonus points.

Bright, expressive nose. Minerals coming out later after initial herbaceousness. Juicy and rich still. At least in terms of Muscadet. Dry finish and a bit round. I think this could have use more acidity but they clearly got some nicely expressive fruit. Good but not exactly classic for the type.

Pale lemon; classical nose, expressive; dry, correct, good extract, terrific spine right through to an extended finish. Ready but with a long life remaining.

Stunningly good muscadet that is at the richer end of the spectrum for a Muscadet with notes of toffee applie, quince and cotton, but cracked through with a spine of minerality. This is more Grand Cru Chablis than cheap quaffer; beautiful finish.

Had with the '07. Fatter thank '07, though with plenty of minerality and structure. Gained depth with air and seemed to fan out with lemon zest and slightly herbal. Great flight with oysters.

Watergrill: similar to '07 but brighter, more fresh citrus, more fresh yeast note. Again, good weight, bright acidity but not aggressive. Like a Chablis village.

Bright and refreshing, with flavors of lemon, saline, salt and bracing acidity on the finish; This is still rather tight and will probably unwind with additional age

Popped and poured, with rice and Indian vegetables. Tasted fine but disappointing for the price point ($23). Hinted at great things but never yielded much. Is it possible that this has shut down temporarily, or is it petering out? On the palate the wine kept to the front of the mouth and refused to open up and offer much length or depth. Salty caramel, sea breeze, straw, sweet lemon and lime, ripe honeydew, are what I picked up but again all rather subtle and restrained. A little better on day 2 but still lacking intensity.

I took to Florida to have at the Oyster Bar, but alas, out of oysters. So I had it lemon, dill, caper tilapia at home. My fish wasn't good enough for this though. Quite nice and vibrant stuff. Darn - last one too. 89+

MuscaDay 2013 (Tom's House - Washington, DC): Aromas of yellow pear, green melon, salt, apple peel. The palate is pure and fresh, with yellow and green fruits. Nice acidic cut (maybe not as much as other vintages, but still high). I get those usual crushed rocks and citrus peel flavors, but I get more of an herbal kick from this wine. Salty finish. I'd like to try it in another five years to see what it does.

This wine is so fresh and light and invigorating. The nose has this multifaceted thing going on, with anis giving way to stones and a herb element. Addictive.

Like most Muscadet, I prefer this at warmer temperatures. After about 30 minutes the sweet lemon component really took off reminding me of lemon tarts I've had in the past. Loved the crushed rocks, the fresh herbs and the body of the wine...just great stuff.

Light yellow color. Nose of lemon, lime, minerals. Similar palate. Great acidity and minerally salinity that comes with a good muscadet. I wish I had gotten some oysters for this bottle. Thanks to my CT secret Santa for this little gem.

Very nice. This has a herbaceous edge like Sauv Blanc that I don't notice in Pepier for instance. White pear and citrus with strong mineral content and a hint of pepper. Substantial fruit but in check with the acidity. Light spritz upon opening. Terrific. Nice local deal at $15.

This showed much better than a 2009 Briords last week. Good acid, some fruit, minerality. Very much alive and well.

A wonderful white wine. Think of seashells, brine and salt air on the palate. Just a lovely wine. It was terrific with a crab, basil frittata!

Excepcional. Decantar. Algo de carbónico. Necesita una decantación o abrir la botella un par de horas antes.
