Compared to the 2008 Village Chardonnay, this is a little bit less focused, a little bit less interesting and while it's still good I preferred the 2008 in most areas.

Lemon grass lime nose. Not so good. Almost a sour lemon flavor a bit woody. Really off balanced! Reminds me of Lysol lemon spray. Very chemically. Not a fan at all.

Easy to say this oozes class because the links to the flagship wines are obvious but in this case it's true. Rich fruits mate well with classy structure, some mild spicy wood notes the highlight. Won't really get much better but for a tick over $20 I'm not complaining.

Exceptional chardonnay for the price. Minimal oak, but a luscious mineral and cream texture. Lovely fruit expression, great proportion. This wine is a wonderful partner to food at the dinner table.

Peachy and lemony. Initially quite steely, but with food and as it warmed in the glass, it opened out and broadened. Good qpr here.

Lovely fresh lemony quite racy fruit. A touch of oak just to add interest and balance. But overall a superb value wine.

Deja Vu Trade Tasting (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney): slightly cheesy, slightly funky, slightly sulphurous over stone fruit, more of the same on the palate and finishes bitter…nah.

A nice wine with bright steely bracing acid, lemon, broad yeasty fruit. Needed a few minutes of air after opening. Very nice well priced wine.

Kumeu River Masterclass (PWS Melbourne): Pale lemon colour. Bright fresh nose. High acid, fresh and simple. Well made wine for early casual drinking.

Kumeu River with the New Plymouth Wine Tasting Club (New Plymouth Hotel): Lovely fruit with bright acid, green apple and a yeasty quality. Very nice in a style leaning toward old world. Long finish. Crisp and clean with a little mineral.
