Deep ruby color. Stood upright for a few days before decanting; only a small amount of sediment. Taste on opening revealed bright red fruit with good acidity. After an hour, acidity stepped back and some blue fruit and oak joined the red fruit from earlier. An excellent CA pinot noir (no mistaking this for Burgundy) that's in a great place now. Fully mature; it should hold here for several more years, but as others have noted, I don't see upside to further aging.

A superb example of rich and concentrated Pinot. Lush and complex with dark cherries and earth, but still light on its feet. An absolute joy from the first sip to the last.

Color is very dark and dense - looks more like Syrah in the glass. This is 2 for 2 in disappointing bottles of DuMol since pulling the case back from off site storage. Super extracted and jammy this over the top style of pinot is just undrinkable to me now. I liked it when I tried it years ago - but my palate has changed and I don't think these wines age well at all. It was so dense and jammy that we could not even finish a glass. Tried again the following night and even poured some for a friend to test, not flawed just pretty gross. Bottle dumped down the sink.

Pop and pour. In the glass, dark saturated ruby red, shading to near-black at the core. On the nose, a typical RRV fruit/spice profile, cut by a bit of additional currant. On the palate, fruit forward but not sappy, spice but not an abundance of sweetness, with a silky texture and secondary mineral notes, with no sign of tannins. This is in a very drinkable place right now.

This wine is drinking absolutely amazing making me rethink when I'm drinking Dumol. Maybe best to hold a little longer then I might with most Pinot. Fruit still evident - on the red side with sweet raspberry and cherry but then blooming with complexity on the palate which is soft, soothing and a lingering finish. Really nice!

Wonderful and still has a lot of life remaining. Deep and complex. Nice acidity with notes of raspberry and cherry. Tannins are nearly soft but certainly still noticable. Try again in two years.

Vindredi (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. A touch medicinal, but that's more than made up for by the rich red fruits on the body with just a touch of sweetness. Riper style, but quite enjoyable to drink.

Can it get much better than this? We are not sure how it can! Wait more time if you want, but we are glad we drank this bottle now.

Moderately deep in color the nose of this wine immediately redolent of red cherries and just simply delicious and drinking beautifully now.

Excellent--we are fans of about all things DuMol. However, for 2009 vintage Pinot the Estate is best.

From barrel. Once this settles down with some barrel and bottle age, it will be a fabulous wine. 92-94.
