Popped, poured, breathed in glasses 30 minutes, consumed over next hour. This is just flat-out delicious, all parts singing in harmony, wonderful balance, drinking fabulously. My last bottle, but I believe this will continue to cruise in well-cooled cellars.

opened 6 years after my first bottle and very consistent notes. Aging well and needed about 30 min to open up. Immediately after uncorking the tannins were still harsh and somewhat bitter, but with air, there is an expansiveness that comes out. The bitterness now seems soft and appropriate - like stone fruit pits, coupled with dark cherries and vibrant acidity. Still a most excellent wine.

Popped, poured, breathed in glasses 60 minutes, consumed over next 2 hours. I'm usually not a fan of Sangiovese blended with Cabernet, but Rampolla does a great job. The effect is subtle and it works. Nice, bright acids, elegant. Developing nicely. Very harmonious.

Opened and decanted for 40 minutes prior to tasting. Cherry, plummy nose. Same for taste. Has plenty of grip, but in this bottle, the fruit is more apparent. This has a different taste profile to it compared to Felsina or Fontodi. This wine isn't oaky at all, but you can tell it has a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in it. I much prefer the Felsina and Fontodi to this.

Another bottle in good condition, had some bad ones recently from this wine. Fresh nose with black currant, licorice, violet, flowers. neat mouthfeel, nice acidity. Good QPR. 90p

Just a very nice and well rounded Chianti. Drinking well now but can see more age. Good balance, good extraction, nice acidity. Great food wine and QPR. Would totally buy again. High end table wine.

archetipal sangiovese with plum, cherry, cedar and a bit of chicken (my description for limestone...). good acidity and round body, lovely with food. ready to go but will last. reading the comments, I think this is a very good wine, and don't notice the international varieties, if any, in the color (transparent red without any purple/violet) or on the nose.

Quite an intense, expressive nose of dusty, dark sour cherry, tobacco and some dried fruit action. Instantly recognizable as a Chianti but the fruit comes off just a bit too overripe/liquorish for my taste. On the palate medium bodied but very chewy, with high acidity and oversized, gripping tannins (I blame you, Cabernet). Very dry and savoury, with a good deal of darkish sour cherry fruit. Indeed the flavor profile quite obviously reveals the existence of French grape varieties in the blend, which is not something I enjoy in a Chianti. Hugely structured and while enjoyable with food, falls apart a bit on the finish, which is a bit thin and boring. There is a lot here that I love in Chianti and other Sangiovese-dominated wines but in the end I'm still left craving for the purer examples of the style. Considering that Panzano is such a great place to grow Sangiovese I really hope that Rampolla would remove the lesser grape varieties from the blend in the future.

Are we all tasting the same wine? This was a classic, and classy, Chianti. Dark cherry and some tobacco notes, vibrant acidity, moderate alcohol, and good medium body. Hard to ask for more from a Chianti.

Full and deep with black cherry and cassis, nice structure and built for the longer haul - would like to revisit in a couple of years - also very nice crisp acidity to give it lift.

Nice Chianti. Really high toned cherry menthol fruits with mega acidity. Doesn't really seem to have to much backbone but enjoyable albeit a little over the top acidity.

A very crisp and juicy wine with lots of acidity and fresh cherry and some strawberry fruit, some cedar oak flavors. The Merlot and Cabernet don't seem to add much fat to the wine as is the case for many similiar blends of Chianti Classico. The tannins are quite soft. Cannot say this has lots of depth or complexities, found it rather simple and ready for drinking. A very light cardboard taste on the finish might indicate a cork taint problem though. - 87 points

tobacco, tart blackberries and a touch of blackcurrant, sour cherry, mushrooms, some cedary old wood, slightly lactic- on the palate, dry, earthy, taut structure with fine tannin and bright acid - the nose is more developed than the palate. This is excellent wine with nervosity and great length. Nice levels of complexity in a typically dry and Tannic manner. Antonio Galloni's impressions (except I find this more to the black fruit spectrum rather than red) and score are right on, in my view. Rather nice wine!

The nose was vibrant and layered, showing masses of ripe strawberry, floral tones, medicinal cherry, herbs and a hint of cinnamon sugar. On the palate, it came to life over the course of an hour, at first lean and then gaining volume, as juicy red berry, herbs and cedar messaged the senses. A deep well of structure showed through the finish as focused red fruits were turned lean with silky tannin which coated the cheeks. I thoroughly enjoyed this young Chianti Classico.

This is really fresh, with aromas of wild berries, raspberry, smoke, floral and mineral. The lean body gives way to the fine tannins. Could use a bit more time to flesh out, but it looks there is some very nice potential here, check back in a year or so. (Best 2014-2019)

Classical-style chianti with below-average body and nice acids; homogenous and clean.
Overall a decent wine but not enough excitement or structure to drink on its own. Probably quite good with food.
The 14 EUR I paid for it is definitely too much; one gets much better chiantis or Rosso di Montalcinos for this price.
