Red with brownish rim, clear, medium intensity. Mature, medium intensity nose. A beautiful cascade of layered aromas; dried forest berries, some black peppar, aromatic almost perfumed vibes, a hint of oak, green peppar. And starts all over again. On the palate dry, medium(+) rounded acidity, medium, finely crushed tannins, medium(+) body. 13%. Complexity of all aromas with added fruity nuances of red and black berries. Very good length with integrated oak and some smoke. Finely textured afterfeel. As time goes, and especially day two, the typical crozes-hermitage character evolves. Darker fruit, rubber, charcuterie. Lively and fresh. Impressed.

Drinking wonderfully well with fruit, good grip. Dficult to describe mix of tart cherry, lots of rasberry on the nose, and ight lilac. Delicately sweet, moderate finish and really nice to drink. Not a ton of complexity, but at this price who cares? Hits well above its price point.

Coming into its own now. Powerful nose of leather, meat, and minor (good) barnyard/sweat on the nose. Acid has finally faded now to only moderate-high. Medium+ body. Dark and gamey flavors. Still somewhat tight finish. ANOTHER 2 years to peak. Glad I didn’t give up on this wine after last taste.

3rd taste and improving with time. The very high acid that characterized this wine has finally substantially faded now. Leaves a serious wine with a strong but not overwhelming barnyard and black fruit character. Best in 2 more years.

Inviting nose of horse stable, licorice, and crushed rocks. Light and soft. Very herbal, with notes of lemon, oregano, and blackberries. Short and tasty.

Given some of the previous notes I was positively surprised by this bottle. It is well matured but still with some typical character. Overall a plesant feeling in the mouth. Not extraodinary, but very decent price quality ratio. Doubt there is too much more to gain from further ageing.

Recently I drank the Hermitage '06 from Delas. This is Crozes-Hermitage from a better vintage. Less depth but I like it more. More fruit together with some good tannins makes it a nice wine and getting alsmost a similar score as the Hermitage.

Sulfur notes reduced after vigorous decanting/aeration. Plum and pepper aromas, with a little blackcurrent and vanilla. With food, a sawdusty oak note became quite strong and un-integrated (only 30% of the wine aged in barrel). There are several other faults too, including a stalky under-ripeness and too much barnyardy Brett notes. A touch overtannic too.

This syrah was a perfect match for White Stilton (basil, parsley, dried apples) stuff pork chops. Savoury, peppery, fruit on the back of the palate and balanced acidity. All good. This is one where drinking the wine WITH the food in your mouth, rewards.

Still youthful garnet. Meaty, savoury nose, lashings of white pepper, raspberry and hot rubber. Medium bodied, light tannins, fresh red fruit, even orange zest (something that I almost never find in red wines), white pepper and dried herbs. Finishes well, echoes of white pepper once more. Very good, with fine layers of complexity, just slightly short of stuffing compared to Delas's more expensive offerings, but a fine representative of Crozes.

clear, medium garnet with purple hue. farm barn and animal fur in nose, some dark berries. moderate palate, well balanced. mild pepper spice, earthy, meaty and savoury. medium(-) bodied, velvety tannins. it's a little rough and raw, though it's quite smooth in general, showing terroir but not finely crafted.
2nd day (stored in fridge), still has fine tannins, also developed some perfume and mint, surprisingly showing a little complexity. what an amazing terroir!
Like the must of farmland concentrated into a barber shop, the nose will throw you. It's not an all together pleasing wine to sniff, but the surprise comes in the taste. On the palate was a distinct vivacity, a very sumptuous, velvety texture that was delicious without being fruit heavy. A very smooth drink with a peppery, light, tannic base in the back. It's a fun wine that fills the mouth without being overpowering in any sort of capacity. This is really a stand out wine for the price.

Pretty young and tannic but no problem to drink young. A little 'commercial' Needs air. Some vanilla tones and fruityness. I would have liked some more acidity like the Graillot style.

For around $17 I certainly wouldn't complain, but I wasn't thrilled either. This wine had much of the spiciness I've come to love in wines from the Southern Rhone. Unfortunately, it was mostly lacking on the finish, which was very thin, and somewhat acidic. Drinking it the second night it tasted almost identical to the first night! Reasonably good QPR and probably as much as you can expect from the North without spending more.

This is smooth and fresh, aromas of redcurrants and cherry with flavours to match. Not as much spice as I would usually expect but then this is also 'only' 13% alcohol. A very pleasant, easy drinker which is interesting enough to keep you keen.

Quite a fruity nose with hints of stone. Black currant, Wild berrys and some heat in the background. The taste is a little disappointing, short and transparent. Some dark fruits is still there though. A competent wine without the wow.

Very tight, not giving much, but that clinched fist is hiding a wonderful expression of variety and terroir, smoke, rubber, raspberry lurking in the depths. Dense tannins, searing acidity. Classic vin de garde which will surely come good. 86++

Fresh reddish-purple color. Medium body. Very similar to the '09 at this stage. Notes of berries, spice (cloves), earth (cement), and a dash of tobacco. Well-balanced but very raw; it really needs 90 minutes or more decant. If it is like the '09, it needs at least a year (preferably two) to truly come together, but so far delicious.
