Perfect color. Started off strong with a deep and gorgeous nose. Palate seemed like it needed stretching since it seemed slightly tired. I gave it time to unwind in the bottle and… it became oxed. Big RIP

A great Lafon Perrries with salted butter, sweet spice, perfume, dried tropical extract, caramelized yellow fruit and almond. It is rich and layered with fresh acidity, which give the wine a good balance between freshness and ripeness. Drinking at peak with that alluring Lafon richness.

we dronk it blind against a coche perrieres 2009, comtes lafon , the nose was clean and sharp, even young, some apples and almonds very beautiful acidity , it is still young , but i missed some fatness from the chardonnay , it was rather a cold wine, but still a great bottle, if the coche was not their , we probably talked all night about this bottle :)

Very fresh indeed, citrus galore, minerals, almost Chablis-like in it's precision, airy, elegant, a real surprise when revealed - when the wine get's warmer, the origins and age seems more evident. #CP

Very pale. Light and subdued. Barely recognizable as Meursault. Seems almost young it’s so clean. Pleasant enough but seriously missing mid palate concentration. Previous bottles from the same source have been better.

Dinner at Summer Pavilion (Summer Pavilion, Ritz Carlton, Singapore): Wow. This was a step-up from the already great bottle of 2002 Lafon Charmes that we had alongside. It had such an expansive bouquet, filling the nose was wafts of cream and chalk and minerals, then white fruit and sweeter sultanas, white flowers with touch of honey, finally a draw of hazelnut aromas - a real whiff of heavenly nectar. Wow. It was amazing on the palate too, starting with an attack of sultanas, spice and brioche - flavours like a raisin-cream bun I thought - and then opening up into warm, generous flavours of white peaches and ripe lemon that just expanded and expanded in the mouth against a deeply buried structure of mineral and soft acidity. This was a wonderfully integrated wine, beautifully round and mellow, broad and generous, yet suavely balanced and always supremely focused. Great long finish too - not showy, but with a subtle tail of stony minerality that lingered and lingered on the back palate. A superb expression of the Perrieres vineyard, drinking at a delicious peak now.

Once again this wine impresses from the gentle vintage 2000. The yeasty, leesy nose is typical of Lafon although this wine has been much more wild in the past. This bottle not at all funky despite the medium gold color. Medium intensity, very nice although it too faded in the glass so better to drink sooner rather than later.

Another tremendous showing for this gorgeous Meursault. I have been lucky since none of my bottles have exhibited even a trace of oxidation. This one was slightly less animale than the first one but more elegant. Lots of leesy oatmeal notes, medium body, excellent acidity, perfect stage of development. If only it would stay like this forever.

Very nice mature Meursault but more linear and without the mildly exotic truffle overtones of previous bottles. Still, very fresh, hint of grilled nuts and stylish.

Not as wild as the last bottle but even better for its concentration and Meursault specificity. For the first few minutes I was treated to the animal fest I had experienced before but it blew off. The color was remarkably light for age. Excellent drive and acidity. Then, musky intensity took over with a side order of hazelnut and lemon peel. There was no fading over a three hour period. Perrières rules.

Really impressive and markedly different than the '99 and 2000 Lafon Charmes. Immediately forthcoming intense nose of musk and over-ripe yellow fruit with a distinctive feral, animale, stinky white truffle character I find irresistible. Deep, rich, impressive, mature and healthy. Not at all an elegant style of Meursault, but fascinating in its earthy complexity. Surely at its apogee now, how long can it last?

Lafon 1er Cru and Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée Aux Brulées Dinner (Les Nomades - Chicago IL): Served blind to the group, I knew the flight but not which wine was in each glass. Very ripe start with lots of apple, salted pecans, doughnut peaches. Great density and textures on palate with the most intense finish of the flight, which helped me correctly identify this as the Perriieres.

Sunday Dinner (The Library, Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong): Nice golden colour but still quite light. Nose is lovely melted salty butter, toasty oak. Palate is toasted lemons, lemon sherberts, super weight in the mouth, mouth coating, bracing ozone acidic freshness. Lots of oak Good length. I should like Mersault more than I do, especially when it is this good.

Victory a bottle of 2000 that was not premix. This wine was in the perfect place. Really showed its terroir. Superb minerality, luscious in the mouth with hints of glycerin and beeswax.

very complex intense nose, great minerality, sweet honeyed fruit and spice aromas with a touch of smoke and white pepper. Explodes in the mouth with sweet citrus and rocky minerals. Very fresh with smooth texture and sweet fruit, precisely defined with a long, long finish

Corked. My only remaining bottle of Lafon Meursault, but I'm not bitter. Ooh, this has been a brutal January run. I hope I am getting a year's worth of flawed bottles out of the way early on.

Chez Bruce, London It is a perriere, I know, but this vintage did not strike me as being great for this wine. Pure, mineral (very vague word) , very very long but very very narrow, eve the following day.

My 2nd tasting of 2000 Perrieres is still very enjoyable. Very beautiful, vibrant, wonderful scent of terroir, clean mineral and fresh.
Structure is great, medium-bodied, good balance and very good finish. Much better after 3 hours breathing.
Brilliant stuff !!!
