This Cab is still outstanding, especially for the price. If you can find it, buy it!! The nose was evident immediately, and the soft bouquet never gave up. Great finish. Wish I had more.

Had with baby-back ribs. Opened up rather quickly and then mellowed. I decanted as an experiment and probably this wine should not be decanted. Enjoyed the wine as usual. The last few sips of this tased very much like a left-bank bordeaux with a very non-fruit foward taste...actually, it was really good.

Had this bottle last night, it was okay an okay bottle. The nose was a little off I thought, though not corked. Decent fruit on the palate. Left it in the decanter until tonight, and it's actually drinking better tonight.

Very closed. Lots of tannin. Leathery. Oaky. Opened up after an hour, but fruit essences still overpowered by leather and earth. Wait until 2006 to try again.

Inky purple, somewhat muted nose of plums, cassis and a hint of spice. Smooth on the entry with tannins immediately noticeable. Oak is evident mid-palate with a medium finish. After the second day, the tannnis smoothed out and the wine gained strength on the nose and more flavor on the palate. I doubt that this will be a long-term ager but should sort itself out after time in the cellar. I like this wine especially at this price range.

In my opinion a typical Alexander Valley Cab, peppery, nice fruit, and overall solid wine. This needs aging as the oak overwhelms the wine, this may never really bottle age much and integrate the heavy oak, but who knows. would not buy again.

Tasted unblinded at home. Bright disc. Opaque ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of black cherry, plum and oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium, slightly coarse tannins and oak-dominated black fruit flavors. The mid-palate is thin and the finish somewhat short. This winery did so well with their Cabernet in 1997 and 1999. It is surprising that they fell short in a vintage as good as 2001. Still, it is a decent value and should not be overlooked as a wine to serve in a casual setting.

Believe it or not, this wine still had bright fruit. I expected it to be long gone, but was very pleasant, if a bit faded.

3L format held up well. Lots of oak, still solid fruit, didn't need to wait any longer though.

Pretty much gone through no fault of its own. I'm late.

Very simple, dark purple grape juice. Too sweet.

Better than a year ago. The wine has mellowed - the tannins are smoother and more integrated. A nice weekday wine - still not high level.

A solid $11 bottle of wine. No complexity, no excitement, just a nice easy to drink cab.
