Extremely rustic, kind of clunky and short raspberry forest floor mud. I’d call it over the hill but probably wouldn’t have enjoyed this that much younger either.

Solid performance. Darker and richer than I expected, possibly a distinction between M-à-V and the Morgon wines we more often drink? Well integrated, balanced, and showing no evidence of decline.

Surprisingly youthful Ruby color. Wet Forest floor and deep red fruit on the nose. Palate adds pepper and cedar. Fine-grained dusty tannins lead to a long aftertaste. This is drinking really well right now, and it has years left ..

Same btl as R&Rler. The first time I've enjoyed this producer. I've made the mistake of trying these on release in the past and found them very chewy almost rustic and since avoided buying them. Tonight the tannins were nearly resolved except for a little dusty tannin on the finish. The fruit was robust & dark and for me the text book example of grapy. Almost like fermented Welches grape juice. Right now this lack finesse and subtly but it makes up for that in lip smacking tastiness. 89-90pts tonight, for me. Still not sure I ever need to own any of these. Still my least favorite Beaujolais from Kermit. Don't drink these young. Be fun to taste this one with 2-5 more years on it.

It's been a while since I've sat down with a bottle of Beaujolais. lately all I've tried have been samples at tastings, so I thought it was time to pull one out of the cellar. This has really developed into a nice wine with a good deal if the dusty tannins now integrated and allowing more of the fruit to shine through. I did read one other review in which it was believed this wine had past its prime. Am I missing something? I thought it was rather nice with the potential to be better in a year.

A star performer in an otherwise light year, at 5 years this is sappy and alluring with medium weight flavors of cherry, boisenberry and tart raspberry, with a liquored, and more weighty finish. Drinks like a 2011 bottling from one of the other 9 village crus. Atypical Moulin-a-Vent, but everything you could want from Beaujo Cru, plus old world personality and authenticity.

Dark garnet, purple. Effervescent nose of evergreen, menthol, dark sour cherries and wet earth. Palate brings more sweet and sour cherries, raspberries, rhubarb, smoky cloves, candied red fruit, cinnamon, and musty blackberries. Tannins are still strong, giving this a chewy, gritty texture that mutes the finish via its sour streak. But otherwise, a nice QPR.

Deep red purple in the glass. Nose of black cherry and black raspberry, echoed on the palate where it's shored up by black leather jacket. Medium firm tannins, especially assertive on the moderate finish. Could probably handle cellaring for a bit, but this is where it should be now. Drink by 2017.

Based on others notes, many I trust, surprised my thoughts on this, nice but not stellar away by the Kermit Lynch Cru Beaujolais, two of us agreed, although its better today. Not a bad bottle by any means.
Dark garnet red color Nice nose of raspberry, spice, red fruits Palate is more intense 2nd day, with good structure and drying tannins, fruit has opened up a bit, but could be a bit more expressive. Nice red fruit on front, good structure but a bit lacking on the mid palate, with astringent finish.
worth sitting on a bit longer or aerating, but for $21 can't complain!

Nose of straw, very earthy, red fruits...the fruit takes more than a back seat to the earthy and more complex notes on the nose...firmly tannic, tremendous acidity, the red fruit from the nose seems darker on the palate, earth, tar - the finish is exceptionally long with ever present tannins.
After a few riper examples from various vintages this incarnation feels somehow more classic, not a caricature of Gamay trying to be Pinot Noir. Going to buy more, lay it down and see how this evolves.

E&R's 3rd Annual Beaujolais Weekend; 11/17/2012-11/18/2012 (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Rich and intense aromas. Very nice briar flavors but this couples with great strawberry fruits. Really tight on palate entry, and remains tight through aeration in the mouth. Tart and gritty. Just feels young, with tannins building. The finish is also incredibly intense, but shows good balance to its elements. Feels closed down. I really do think this is going places, but it's way too tight for current consumption. Certainly better than the bottle I had 8 months ago.

Dark ruby color was the highlight after that it was downhill, tight and tart, exhibited very little fruit, earth or interest and was really disappointing.

deep full to med body with ripe fruit and leather / animal skin, perfect entry with crisp acid and gripping tannins (could use more cellaring), med to full body of dark cherry although it struggles to come forward, with a tight finish. Not a bad effort however i much prefer these Gamay's on hotter years where the fruit add balance to the exotic notes.

full and rich in color, violets and cherry aromas, this is a dark and brooding Beaujolais with incredible balance, flavors include red plum, black cherry and hints of spice, has structure to age, fills the mouth cavity with youthful tannins, good with BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs tonight, showed off elegance on its own

No notes taken. This was showing some beautiful aromas at first with an elegant blend of earth, minerals, soil, and bright red berries. The palate had a nice texture with a similar pleasing balance of earth and fruit, but the finish hit very hard with some volatile acidity and a strong sense of chewing on metal filings. It waved up and down between smoothing out and getting more gritty the whole night. There seemed to be some impressive material here, but on this night it just wasn't hitting on all cylinders, and was off balance and harsh on the finish. This would definitely be over 90 points if it weren't for that finish. I hope to try one again and see if things mellow at all.
