  • Nose of strawberry, apple, grape juice (yes I know its odd to use grape juice to describe a wine but that's what i smelled) with faint forrest floor and mineral.

Light fruity flavor. Cherry and green apple. Short to medium length acidic cranberry mineral finish.

    Good wine. Easy drinker.

  • I was given this wine as a gift, when I visited the tasting room with a relative. While I am in general a big fan of Goosecross, this wine did not do it for me. Muted nose, odd flavors of candied cherry, and what tastes like residual sugar. I am sure that is just glycerol/alcohol making it taste sweet, but it was off putting to me.

That said, the mouthfeel was excellent, and when I reset my expectations (I tend to prefer more austere wines), I found myself quite enjoying this.

If I have the choice, stick to Goosecross's delicious whites, and their higher end reds - the Howell Mountain Cab is consistently amazing, and I always wish I had the spare change to buy more of it.
