Notes of blueberries and graphite on the nose, reminiscent of Washington Cabs. Past its prime on the palate, with medium-high acidity; pair with mushrooms and gravy, as in beef Stroganoff. Best within 10 minutes from opening.
Notes of blueberries on the nose initially, which morph into sarsaparilla after some time, and also faint notes of funghi (mushrooms) and warm bread. Medium to full bodied on the palate, with fresh fruit, medium tannins, and good acidity. This is somewhere between your typical, overoaked Napa Merlot, and a softer, rounder Merlot from Bordeaux. An outstanding food wine, it paired wonderfully with a mushroom tart (http://www.stfranciswine.com/recipes/recipe.asp?RecipeID=177). Peter Rosback, Sineann's winmeaker, really knows how to make the best out of his grapes! 14.6% ABV. 89-91
