Elders @ Eric's: Bottled in 1924. Syrupy, powerful wine with cocoa, cardamom, and star anise on the spicy palate. Clean spirit is hardly noticeable, finishes more bitter than sweet which is tolerable at its age. My favorite of the ports tonight.

The Los Angeles Tasting (Los Angeles, CA): Surprising rich orange-amber in color for a wine this old. Clear, with just a hint of sediment. Nose of strawberry, red fruit and a touch of cinnamon and spice. Warm, expansive mouthfeel with complex cinnamon, strawberry, and close. Full-bodied with a very long finish of subtle spice and bight acidity.
