Concentrated fruit with focused flavors and balance. Full body and long finish. Well structured, and surprisingly not quite developed yet! Has a ood 10 or more year of life with evolution in it. Kudos to Mr. Newsom.

Other than the PITA plastic / wax enclosure, this wine is wonderful. Decanted as the last third of the cork was completely saturated and broke off. At fifteen years, it’s mature but still showing lots of life. Well integrated, but still noticeable tannin; black fruits are juicy with great concentration; complex flavors; acidity supports a lengthy finish. Paired with grilled ribeyes, shrimp, mushrooms, and corn on the cob. Unlikely to improve with further cellaring, but this might drink well for another 3-5+ years.

Washington State 2007 Boudreaux Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon ($30 in 2013). Dark purple; berry, cocoa, sweet red fruit nose; mid-body; balanced; mid-soft tannins; soft fruity finish; fading. 16 UC Davis scale; 90 other scales.

I last enjoyed this back in 2015 and it was still in development, but hitting on all cylinders. Displays a deep ruby core with garnet edges. At this juncture this wine is fully mature and complex with the juicy black fruits now tending toward dried red raspberries, and slightly stewed cherries and plums with powdered chocolate, chopped tobacco, drying olive tapenade, balsamic, and dried forest floor. Tannin is mostly resolved but there’s still some chewiness and acidity at the finish, which is satisfying. Unlikely to improve with further cellaring but also unlikely to die over the next 1-2 years. Paired with a beef ribeye steak. 92 points.

I opened this for our 2/16/19 Cabernet Sauvignon tasting. It had a rich, ripe and complex nose of cassis, black cherry, blueberry, burnt toast, cardamon and spice aromas. The palate was rich, dense and complex with flavors that followed the nose.

Good cork pull and cork lightly magenta stained, which somehow I associate with lighter flavors or a blended wine. But wine was nicely balanced. Was surprised to see drinking window wasn't until 10 years after vintage but it lost nothing that i could tell. No one flavor dominated but was a good balance all around. Not overly complex or over the top, but pleasant. Would try again. Liked the wax seal over the capsule.

We had this with grilled ribeye steaks on 3/19/16. It had a complex and subtle bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, black currant, mocha, lead pencil, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was soft round and dry with flavors of black cherry, plum, blueberry, black currant, mocha and cocoa.

Getting pretty close to the sweet spot after only 20 minutes. Flavors of wild boysenberries initially with a good measure of white pepper, then a significant wave of (Rutherford-like) dusty notes 20 minutes in, after which it starts tapering off, softening out, and eventually loosing the alcohol/acid-body balance 90+ minutes in. In a perfect place right now as a pop-and-pour. 13.8% ABV. 91+

Clear variation here--I agree with favorable reviews, and found none of the 'hot' or 'cooked' attributes. Rich, nice weight, more along the lines of WMCCONES54 and AMERIQUE remarks of fruit and backbone. Nose was not notably deep or evolving, but overall very good.

Since I last enjoyed this wine 18 months ago, it seems to have developed more complexity and much of the earthiness, and tertiary notes have really started to balance the fruit. Although the blackberry, cassis, cherry, and plums are still evident, the tobacco, black olive, damp black soil, eucalyptus, and coffee are more pronounced. Wonderfully balanced with tannins, oak, and acidity all in harmony. Big and full bodied in the mouth and definitely has the muscle to stand up to a juicy, chargrilled ribeye steak. Long finish. Has significantly improved since my last tasting. Although this producer's Merlot has been les than appealing, the Cabernet Sauvignons have been rock solid. This will easily cellar for another 7-10 years.

Initially tight and potent, aromas and palate show intensity and alcohol, the wine eventually calms down and the heat blows off, but what is left lacks zing and comes across a little flat and watery. Day two- shows better integration, sweet dark fruits and some peppery spice. Segues into a medium length mocha finish that back fills with fruit. Mystery buy from Rimmerman - Day one had me spend a third or more of the bottle on pan sauce. Day two came across better, yet still relatively simple. I'd hold any bottles for a while in the hopes of better integration and some tertiary development.

This started out big concentrated and tight and potentially cloying. After a day in the bottle it has started to open up considerably. Thankfully is showing much more savory Notes than it originally had. I am very optimistic about this wine's future knowing the pedigree of the vineyards in the way it is fleshed out over the last two days.

Nice ruby color. Red fruit and pencil lead nose. Dark red, almost black fruit with a bit of cedar across a nice finish. Tannins still there, but all in good balance. I think this goes another 6-7 years easy, but just fine right now too.

This bottle was a tad more angular, though not to the point of being disjointed; just not as immediately accessible and quaffable. The red fruit profile was definitely replaced with a black fruit component that totally complimented the cocoa powder finish. I would swear this has a healthy dose of Merlot in it, but the label doesn't tell.

Popped and poured. Another solid bottle of wine, but it's almost too smooth. Goes down just a bit too easy and evokes very little emotional response. All elements are in balance and the mouth feel on Rob's wines rank up there with some of the best. Would purchase again.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable bottle of wine. Brilliant ruby color. Immediately engaging aromatics brimming with dark red fruits and just the right hint of oak. The entry was surprisingly inviting; deeply fruited with nice mid-level acidity and drying, though not offensive or distracting tannins. I would not have pegged this for a WA Cab at all. Definitely the most round & easily approachable that I've ever tasted; not even requiring food to be enjoyed. I look forward to opening another one of these sometime soon and can envision it following my last bottle of '11 Williams-Selyem Sonoma Cnty Pinot - both, just so thoroughly drinkable wines!

Popped and decanted. Probably should have given it more time to open up. Solid bottle of wine with no soul. It's like watching an Olympic event where the athlete hits all of the technical elements of their routine, but the passion doesn't shine through. I can't point out a single piece from that wine that I disliked. The aromas were pleasant, typical Cabernet flavors and solid mouth feel and structure. However, as I write this a day later I couldn't recall a unique element that stood out to me. Would purchase again, but probably wouldn't bring it out for a special occasion.

All I can say is that I hope the other two bottles of this that I bought do not have the raging VA problem that the first bottle did. Smelled like vinegar mostly, underneath that there was some really nice fruit and spice components but they felt smothered by the acetic acid. A big disappointment.
Inky purple with fine tannins evident throughout. Beautiful body with a rich balance of bing cherry, coffee, chocolate and an almost syrupy note of molasses, all grounded with earthier tones of clay and wood. Comes on strong with alcohol in the first hour but mellows to perfection after that.
Could use a few more years, will certainly drink well for a decade or more. Great QPR.
Ideal with pasta bolognese, lovely with chocolate.

A very dark inky purple, full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon which was decanted before enjoying. Aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, dark cherries, plum, vanilla, black olive, and tobacco, all underscored with a dark earthy component. Smooth, layered and creamy. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Strong finish.

Good wine, but needs a lot of time to integrate. At first, the acid and alcohol take over, but after 2-3 hour decant, definitely smooths over and improves. Think this needs a couple more years, and still a long decant.

Wife loved it.. plenty of blackberry, cassis and cherry, massive fruit forward winet, really nice acidity..needs time for the fruit to calm down and I wish for more tannin. Wait a few more years.

Pretty refreshing for a Cab - zippy acidity, resolved tannins. Somewhat lacking personality but this was still all primary and that may change with a little more bottle time.

Tasty, young, tight, mineral. Not a ton of tannin, but a nice red/black fruited example with lots of mineral character and good balance. Should be good to go for another 5-10 years easily.

Pretty fine. Dark colour. Pure fruit, blackcurrant and dark cherry, not overly complex, well balanced, soft dry tannins, currant and dark cherry fruit Long complex finish, dry but full of fruit. Still young. Delicious.

I liked this bottle. Good nose and flavor with relaxed tannins. Even a little young perhaps and I look forward to the next bottle.

May have needed more time to reintegrate from shipping.
Nose was marvelous, but was disjointed. Drank over 3 hours then some the following evening . Was not a matter of breathing.

This is a very nice wine, with some power and concentration, dark fruit and cedar/ eucalyptus on the nose. After an hour of decanting the tannins were still unresolved. Great backbone. Needs several years before it's truly approachable. Good QPR

Not as impressive as I had hoped...nothing wrong, but just a pretty standard WA cab/blend. Looking for more depth and power in the fruit here. Left open overnight, about the same the next evening.

Strong finish.

wow, this is really good! Decanted for two hours, bright and crisp nose, the mouth, well integrated, still some acid left, but bright crisp cherries. Medium finish, really enjoying this on its own.

Good wine, but needs a lot of time to integrate. At first, the acid and alcohol take over, but after 2-3 hour decant, definitely smooths over and improves. Think this needs a couple more years, and still a long decant.

Decanted two hours, then paired with rack of lamb. This is a big wine, with deep fruit and no shortage of oak, but it comes off balanced an elegant. Very "Washington," in a good way. 91-93.
