Just a bit too late on this one. I think it would have been 93-94 a couple years ago. Still an excellent wine, but past it's peak. If you have it, drink it.

Basicly consistent notes since 2019. Decanted an hour. Deep purple. Nose of cassis, a bit of vanilla, and dark fruits. Rich blueberry, blackberry, and a hint black currant. Tannins dusty but not intrusive. Remains quite primary. Stored perfectly and still room to change in a good way, i think, but i won't wait too long.

Still has the fruit but much subdued, tannins are all resolved, drink them if you got them, this will not be lasting much longer. I liked it but wish I would have pulled from the cellar a year ago, we still enjoyed it however. It would have been a 93 a couple of years ago.

A bunch of wines at dinner with Friends (Taste): Ruby/purple in color. The nose has cassis and a very strong tobacco, both brown and green quality. Is there any Cab Franc in this? On the palate, this seems to be at peak. Nice cassis flavors. Mild tannins. Lots of fruit left. Just the slightest amount of oak left. This drinks a bit more Bordeaux like than I was expecting which for me is a goof thing. Nice showing.

Dark, dark purple color. Nose of ripe blackberries and plums, some leather and cedar. BIG, BIG palate - ripe blackberries and plums dominate, black licorice and a trace of tobacco leaf on the mid-palate. While, Ramey's Jericho Canyon is typically one of my favorite Cali Cabs because it has both beautiful fruit and layered nuances this one is riper and bolder. I am not sure it will reveal the kind of nuances I would expect with age from this vineyard given where it is at 10 years. Drink now or hold for 10 more years.

- Ruby color with medium forming legs and aromas of black currant, blackberry and cedar. It's balanced and has flavours of black currant with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a medium finish - Delicious and showing some age. Lots of plum and silky smoothness absolutely delicious with a light pasta and grilled octopus.
No signs of age, visually or on the nose. A little cassis and a lot of plums. Fairly rich, with a solid finish. At least one CellarTracker note indicated that's it's headed downhill. My first taste since 2007, but if this has faded, I can only wonder just how terrific it might have been at its peak.
On the nose - Cassis, Blueberry , Cherry Liquor, oak, and a touch of heat. Palate was nice and plenty of fruit with integrated tannins, but more heat. Given the price tag ($100) and the pedigree, I was a little dissapointed, even at the $50 I paid. I think this will hold for a few more years, but don't see it improving much. Good wine, but no standout.... 90

Voluptous and decadent, a fabulous wine. Wonderful nose reaches out of the glass. Dark and jammy with fruits - currant, blackberry and plum, spicy and a bit floral with full to medium body. Long, delicious finish with silky tannins. I thought this was marvelous.

Great wine. Dark violet and dark garnet. Scorched earth and smoked black fruit with dark cherry sticking out. Some cedar, cinnamon and oak, even at 7 years out. Left a couple glasses in the bottle with some inert wine gas. The next day, everything was just dark fruit and heat. I am glad I drank this last bottle because it has peaked. Watch out for serious sediment and my last bottle had 3 large oak shavings in the bottle.

Solid Napa Cab, not too flashy, but not overly exciting; quiet nose of dark, brooding plum fruit and cocoa; elegant, nicely balanced, but the dark fruit is the dominant feature with hints of smoke and herbs; very smooth and voluptuous.

Dark brooding color. Nice room filling Cab aromatics. Medium bodied in comparison to other Cali Cabs. This has nice current and black olive notes on finish. Tannins receeding. Tasted at Emeril's Delmonico at Venetian, Las Vegas. Opaque dark color. Great nose that opened up in the glass. Mocha, chocolate, cherry, raspberry, plum and some good oak. Not as full on the palate and it did not have the concentration I would have expected from explosive nose. Jammy fruit, some earth, cherry, raspberry and chocolate. Tannins were fine and not too full. I got the sense this will have a short arc. Finish was only okay with a nip of heat.

completely agree with sdr on this one. a decent wine with great balance but nothing spectacular. modest nose, decent fruit with red and black fruits, medium bodied, nice structure on the mid-palate with flavors of spice box, black currents, graphite, pencil lead. very approachable tannins....and wow, lots of sediment for such a baby.

The oversized heavyweight of the bottle leads you to believe this will be a massive heavyweight style of cabernet and you would be (mostly) correct. The large clots of sediment are surprising in a 3 year old infant. The wine is full bodied but surprisingly complex with an impression of blackcurrent, graphite, licorice and even charcoal. There are moderate tannins on the finish to be resolved and this wine could improve for a few years at least. Very well made as are all David Ramey's wines and enjoyable but not spectacular.

After about two hours of decanting, tar, cherry, chocolate in the nose, with cherry, cassis, chocolate and herbs (?) on the palate. There was some menthol or mint early on, but a few hours' time in the decanter and it's gone. We didn't find this to be particularly tannic at all. For a wine that is only three years old and this high in alcohol, it was surprisingly well balanced. Tasting in many ways like a much more mature wine.

Purple to brilliant ruby at the edge with sensuous legs. Full body with a nose of black currant, creme de cassis, toast and a hint of cafe mocha. Sweet red and black currant infused with creamy coffee'd cassis finishing with a delicate whisp of chocolate. The acidity and tannins seem to integrate seamlessly making this wine for me a truly pleasurable experience at this young age.
