Sound ripe fruit, great balance and harmony, vertical and pure. Soft but marked tannins. This is on the young side, but there’s great potential here. Great wine. Granit 60 tasting chez Lillelund.

Strict, firm, vertical, manly, very much like the vintage. A cool cat indeed. Will live. Even better on day, slowly awaning. Quite a tannic grip. Glad to have some in the cellar. 93+ #ParisTasting#ChezMoi

Tasting Ground official tasting, Rhone wine pairing (Jerar restaurant): 1/3 whole bunch, 1/3 inox and 2/3 big old oak The wine feels lighter in style at first, next to Alain Voge VV. The wine shows red and black fruit, herbal freshness from the stalks The wine is very fresh again in the palate, lighter to medium body, juicy from the fruit and a bit tight from the tannins, almost ethereal in the long finish Gets smoother with time

Pretty darn nice Cornas. The nose starts with a sort of fuzzy wildness and a touch of reduction, and as it clears it centers on a very pretty and intense nose of pure reddish Syrah fruit with an herbal edge. On the palate it's young and intense, the sides just starting to smooth around a firm core of pure and savory Syrah fruit, but still finishing with raspy tannins. Clean.

High toned with some herbal aromatics. On the palate, the fruit is complemented by a nicely proportioned smoky note. This seems much less extracted and better balanced than a bottle 3 years ago. While I wouldn’t quite say it was elegant, this bottle leaned towards the better-behaved side of Syrah.

Semi savoury nose of dark cherry, blueberry, charcuterie, sweet tobacco, bitumen, anise and pencil shavings. There’s a slight medicinal note in the background, however it blows off and I’m not convinced that it’s Brett.
Quite a lot of sandy tannins and lots of acidity are the features of the fresh palate, which is linear, controlled, and reasonably long.
Opinion: Youthful, and in need of a good decant. Try again in 5 years.

Didn’t take a note, but was fairly impressed. A big wine with significant extraction, but very elegant tannins and a lot of bright acidity. Right now the fruit dominates both the nose and the palate; I’m hoping that with time, some of the more sauvage aspects will become more prominent.

A beautiful Northern Rhone and an incredible value in the scheme of things. Red fruity, white pepper with polish (not the hot dog). I have had, and have, every Geynale between 2007 and 2012. I have come to prefer the Granit 60 over the Geynale because the Granit 60 has a certain brightness to it and perhaps a bit more elegance.

More approachable day 1 than day 2-- this is a wine with a 10-15 year life ahead of it. Fairly brooding, with all of the classic northern-Rhone flavours -- dark red fruits, tar, white pepper meaty & smoky -- but without the barnyard / brett. A very clean style, something between classic and modern (I mean that as a compliment). This may well merit a higher score as it develops.

Still young; decanted two hours but would have benefited from more. Powerful, elegant wine; rich, good fruit & acidity, ripe and integrated tannins, great length. Better in 5 years, perhaps peak 10-15?
Score could increase depending on how it ages.

This showed extremely well against some pretty outstanding 90s vintage N. Rhones. Still quite young, decanted 2 hours before tasting, hope to be able to try this over coming 5-10 years.

North Rhone 2010 Horisontal Tasting: Nose: Lovely perfumes, lavender and violets. Beautiful. Palate: A little closed but still a lot of blackberries and lots of black pepper.

Brought this to an 8-bottle Northern Rhône 2010 horizontal. Most of the wines seemed to fall in 2 categories: the very elegant and perfumed, and the very loaded and powerful ones. This one somehow fell in-between. I found it to be a little un-elegant and, in comparison with for instance the Moestue Cornas Reynard, it lacked both in depth, definition and concentration. It's still very early days, but it didn't quite do the job for me. Others liked this much more than I did - hopefully time will prove me wrong. (88-90)

I just loved this wine and where it is right now. So giving, yet restrained at the same time. Lovely.

Very pleasant and drinking very well. Meaty without being heavy. Does that make sense?
