In '14 I noted "... tart cherry...", I now detect more ripe full cherry. But like in '14, there's plenty of cola and spices. Proper Pinot but not to be confused with Burgundy. But last time I checked, Sonoma is far away from Burgundy.

Some spice and actually quite a bit of vanilla and sweetness to it. The fruit was nice with some tartness that helped bring out some acid. In a good spot but could go for another 5-7 years is my guess without a hitch

Popped and poured. This is a medium red wine with a nose of cinnamon, spice, cherry, and some slight heat. In the mouth, this is tart with cherry flavors and an increasingly sweet finish. Overall, this is a modest Pinot -- one that is straightforward but pleasant. 88 points.

PnV. Medium dark crimson in color. Good typicity on the nose with a nice spice box element. Sweet strawberries and a great texture makes this ever so enjoyable. This stayed well in the range of what a Pinot should be without going over the top.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vivant Burgundy glass at about 66F.

The nose is exuberant. Tons of strawberry and red cherry. Some Pinot funk. Maybe a little too exuberant for me! The silkiness on the palate is unmistakably sojourn. But overall the fruit is too much for me. Luxurious verging on slutty. But the finish lacks the acid and zip that I'm looking for. There was some mineralogy in there but not much. On Day 2, the fruit seemed to have settled down a bit, a little less "sweet" and with some savory elements. I could see drinking this with food. The wine I drank yesterday, not so much.

Is it just me or is this wine going through a dumb phase? Last year this wine was outstanding and drinking perfectly - however the last 3 bottles I've consumed this year have some very odd notes on the mid palate, a bit metallic or bitter. Very off-putting. Hoping it's just temporary, will sit on these a while.

Get Together at the Crib with the Farmhouse Crew (Chez Moi, Talman Avenue): Limited notes. Very in line with Sojourn Pinot bottlings. Plump, peppery pink fruit. Some nice smoke and meat elements. Anyone would like this wine who enjoys Sonoma Coast Pinot. It is a fuller bodied style but it has light colored fruit elements as well as nice pink rose petal aromatics. A pretty wine that I feel is consistent year to year. The single vineyards are great but this is stellar for an AVA bottling.

Wow. Really outstanding. It took a couple of hours from uncorking for the acid to start shining through, so there was some initial worries about it being a structure less fruit bomb. Hold or decant. Great quality for the price.

This deep ruby wine has a rich core of black cherry, raspberry, spice and minerals, all of which are apparent on both the nose and palate. For a Pinot, it is a full-throttled offering, with fresh acidity, medium-weight tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.4%). Solid in the middle and long at the back end, this is a wine to be taken seriously. Given its structure, it should drink nicely for several more years. Drink now-2020.

Medium ruby color. Nose of cherry pie, tarragon, dried cedar. Complex taste, cherry compote, kiwi, pink pepper, lively acids still. Noticeable for well-integrated alcohol, never obvious above the fruit.

Pure red fruits. Lots less cola/sassafras compared to the '08. Much higher in acidity. Lighter bodied. Earthiness, touch of leather and just the tiniest hint of cola on the nose. Palate has a touch more but also way more acidity. This is much more to my liking than the '08.

Delicious. In my experience, Sojourn never disappoints. This was an easy to drink, fruity instead of woodsy/earthy pinot. Not at all jammy, just an absolutely lovely wine to enjoy on the deck. We planned to have it with dinner.Forget that, it was gone before dinner was even started.

Bright fresh nose of wild strawberries, cola and spring flowers. Palate shows some nice refinement, plushiness, red fruits and verve. Strawberries, red raspberries, red currant and more are here (The nose is worth the 30 bucks alone). Its lively and bright with some awesome mouthfeel. After about 30 mintes this really showed its best; frangipani, sassafras and exotic tea leaf within some wonderfully framed tannins. Acidity is spot-on and finish long. I was jonesing for this all week and this one did not disappoint. A great deal for $29. I will grab a few more.

Another winner from the ever-reliable Sojourn Pinot Noir line-up. If you're looking for a California Pinot Noir that's smooth and delicious I think this stacks up well. No fuss. No dorking around with the decanter - this one is ready to go. Ripe strawberries, raspberries, and baking spice leaps from the glass. On the palate it's silky smooth, with a tiny welcomed hint of herbaceous after taste. Fantastic. Outstanding. A great appellation bottling. Highly recommended.

Wow, this is just so wonderful to drink. Bright ruby in color; cherry, mulberry, pencil shavings, fresh lillies on the nose; initial taste of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry; after open for 2 hours, the fruit trends more towards being that of a baked red fruit pie; sufficient acidity, probably on the lower end though; medium finish; very silky smooth. Held its own to a grilled filet rubbed in brown sugar, sea salt and fresh cracked pepper. Bottle is in jeopardy of being consumed entirely by myself tonight over the next several hours. This is like dessert...not overly sweet in any manner, just delicious.

At this early stage this wine needs a decant of at least 1 hour or just leave the bottle alone for a year. Florals, raspberry and ripe cherry with some spice. Palette is more of the same, full ripe fresh fruit balanced by acidity. The alcohol is really well integrated - there's no heat on the finish. Very nice.

POM wonderful, apple, spice, and vanilla on the nose. med body. silky, but a bit more weight than the sangiacomo. clean, sweet red fruit on the palate back by an appropriate acid structure. more intensity and focus than the 09, and in my mind a big step up. easily in the same league as the svds, which makes this a bargain.

Ripe raspberry; spice; creamy velvet, extract with black raspberry jam notes and nutmeg in the mouth; good balance, good California concentration.

Strawberries and earth on the nose. Wonderful mouth feel with berried fruit and a medium long finish.
